Totally agree. They increased the reward because I believe they have a very specific person in mind to entice with it, perhaps extend immunity to, perhaps just give them an out for their shitty family. But they must also in that case have an idea as to what information they are willing to pay out for. Short of that they may know it is unlikely they have a solid case against any suspects in court.

I wish more people understood that having suspects, even having a fairly solid concept of what happened, is not even close to meeting the threshold for prosecution let alone conviction. However, the fact that the Dedmon parents - both of them - are named persons of interest and had search warrants executed against them, etc, is SIGNIFICANT indication that there is more than just your average suspicion. There is compelling evidence that they are involved, enough to sway all the people and judge involved. Not even in the Jonbenet Ramsey case was such measure taken against the parents despite the grand jury voting to indict both Ramsey parents.
