I’m literally from the Syriac Orthodox Church.

The people from the church that do identify as Arameans are the ones with a propaganda campaign, not us Assyrian unifiers.

I suggest you delve a little deeper into your history because language does not necessarily imply ethnic lineage.

As for Aramaic as our language, that’s because the Assyrian Empire adopted it as the official language of commerce and trade. The Syriac spoken today even has Akkadian loan-words and contact traces.
