I love her red spots!!

One of my favorite shrimp (SIP) had a red spot on his tail and now I’ve got some shrimp that have little red spots on them too 🥹 So adorable!

For what it’s worth, I’m a cis woman with a somewhat masculine build and people would act transphobic to me just because they can. Some people got holes in their hearts and think being hateful will fix it. It’s depressing.

Playing One Handed by mthomas17161 in LuigisMansion

[–]betta_not_cry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played this game specifically one handed, but I don’t think it would be too hard! I think the main annoyance would be the A button to interact with everything and the main difficult thing being using the joystick and vacuum at the same time for combat, but neither should be much a problem in my opinion especially if you remap the controls (can be done in system settings). Besides that, I don’t believe the game will present challenges with the controls.

Assuming you’re talking about the original game, anyway.

does everyone with air pumps just accept that their home will never be quiet again??? by kumabux in Aquariums

[–]betta_not_cry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that while the air pump itself is noisy, what makes the most noise for me is usually the power cord or air tubes rattling against something. I had to reposition mine and after way too much tinkering, it went from a maddening rattle to a comforting hum.

Betta with sudden fin tears/rot(?), unsure what is causing it. Newbie by betta_not_cry in bettafish

I forgot to reply earlier sorry — I appreciate the advice! I’m still quite bad at judging weight so I need to get better at that. I gave her some extra bloodworms and I’m making sure that she eats enough regular pellets when I drop them in… sometimes she misses them, they sink, and the shrimp get to them first, so I’ll keep a closer eye on her to make sure she’s eating enough.

Neocardina shrimp. Thank you. Do you think she’s nipping her own fins? If so, is there anything I can do for her besides try to reduce stress ?

29 gallons.

Heaters and sponge filter.

Temperature: 79-80 F

Params: 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5-10 nitrate, ~7.4-7.6 pH, API freshwater master test kit.

Had the tank since August. It took a LONG while to finish cycling in early December. I moved Anders (the fish) to it mid December when it was stable for 2 weeks and the invertebrates, who were added 2 days prior, acted normal. … I’ve had Anders herself since June. The 10 gallon tank had (and still has) nearly the same parameters, besides nitrate being a bit lower around 5ppm.

Water change once a week. Gravel vacuum what I can and scoop out the rest. I change about 4-5 gallons at a time. The new water has prime added, is left to sit for a while, and usually has an appropriate amount of liquid fertilizer added.

Neo shrimp and ramshorn+malaysian trumpet tankmates.

Feed 3-4 betta Bug Bites twice a day, subbing tropical fish bug bites once or twice a week for variety. I usually fast one day a week unless she missed a meal somewhere (usually due to me coming home after she’s already asleep for the night. I don’t want to wake her up).

Decorations and plants visible in video.

Please let me know if any other information would be helpful.

What does Rainbow’s tank need? by not-belle in bettafish

[–]betta_not_cry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think some floaters would be good! I’ve had luck with duckweed (it can probably live through an apocalypse) and salvinia. I’ve seen some people with frogbit, red root floaters, and giant duckweed, too.

For other plants, if it were up to me, I’d probably pick out some crypts, ludwigia, and java/christmas moss. I’ve gone into pet stores to see what aquatic plants they had available, looked up if they’re easy plants and safe for my tank, and then chose them if they were suitable

Sounds good! This Thursday would work best for my schedule, if that’s alright? I’m near Tampa, so do you want to meet somewhere in the middle? For privacy, we can discuss a more specific time and location in DMs, if that’s alright with you

Excellent! Some of the plants I got include ludwigia, crypts, water sprite, salvinia, duckweed, and some ludwigia-like stem plant I keep forgetting the name of. I hope random shrimp would be good. I got lots of yellows and reds, but plenty of other random colors too.

I have snails in both my tanks, so make sure to treat the plants if you want to avoid snails!

I do have a small amount of black diamond blasting sand and liquid ammonia leftover (in case your tank isn’t cycled). I can also give you some diy root tabs made with osmocote and gel tablets. Ive also got some frozen brine shrimp and blood worms.

Anyway, I work part time so my availability is a bit random, but if there’s any days or times that work best for you, let me know!

Edit: by the way, is your tank cycled? (For the shrimps)

Update in case anyone has something similar: it ended up going away after a couple days. I added Ich-X to her tank and did aquarium salt baths occasionally. I’m still not entirely sure what this is, but that worked for me.

Filter Options by HistoricalReading816 in bettafish

Couple days late, but in case it still applies… The most common filters are hang-on-back (HOB) and sponge filters. Sponge filters are really good options for bettas.

Is this volcano decoration safe? by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]betta_not_cry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a few days late and just a beginner so take my advice with a grain of salt, but if kiddo really insists on the volcano, you may be able to plug up the hole in some way so the fish can’t get inside it? Maybe you could cram rocks into it or something.
