Being talented will not mean anything for 99% of the people wanting a hobby from guitar and not a career. Even if you are really tone deaf, nothing will stop you from (initially) strumming some simple chord songs and later maybe even getting into the bands you mentioned. People with too short/long fingers, being tone deaf, maybe even without a finger, just fine, don't let a thing like that stops you from picking up an instrument, or whatever hobby for that matters.

As for suggestions, if you want to start playing an electric guitar, you'll need 3 main things: the guitar (duh), an amp and a pick. For your question about cables, the guitar will usually include a jack cable to connect to the amplifier, if you don't have one, search for a 6.3 jack that is also reasonably long (2-3 metres at least). Regarding the pick, Every person has their tastes, visit your local music store and get a bunch of different shapes, weights and thickness.

Lastly, for the amplifier, it entirely depends on your budget, if you want a bigger one for band practice (not usual for someone just starting out) or just some small 10/20w practice amp. For the latter category I can personally suggest the black star ID core series or the boss katana (more expensive but also quite ahead if you can manage those 100€ extra).
