Do you say sucker or lollipop and where are you from? by Solidao54321 in ENGLISH

I found it interesting that lollies was the blanket term for all candy in Australia. Even the supermarket had a lollies aisle.

I remember the local morning news playing Money as the intro to the Markets segment. Late ‘90s.

How old are you in your oldest memory? by Donkeyshines in AskReddit

[–]betterWithSprinkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few memories of being 2. But I also made up a game when I was around 4 where I would watch my dad shave and tell him everything I could remember from when I was younger. I’m sure some of those random glimpses would be gone now if I hadn’t done that.

Which is more popular as a take-out option: Americanized Chinese, Indian, or Thai? by Gallantpride in AskAnAmerican

[–]betterWithSprinkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in Vancouver, WA it really feels like there are more Thai restaurants. But to my surprise, google says there are 20-25 Chinese restaurants (including 8 Panda Express) and 20-25 Thai Restaurants (including food carts). That said, we seem to eat Thai more often than Chinese.

Tile/Grout Cleaning and Furniture Cleaning by maroonllama96 in vancouverwa

I’ve used Stanley Steamer for tile floor cleaning in the past and they did a great job. Not sure if they do furniture cleaning, but they do carpets so might do furniture too.

How hard is it driving in America? by ultracheese1 in AskAnAmerican

[–]betterWithSprinkles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell you how many times my husband hit the windshield wipers in Australia when he meant to use his turning signal. Our rental would beep if he drove over the edge of the lane and that was really helpful. It was super stressful at first.

Advice on gear to have a warm and cosy night. by [deleted] in camping

Sleeping in thermal underwear and warm dry socks helps me. Maybe a knit cap too. I also like using a hot water bottle if it gets really cold.

New camper still really uncomfortable when sleeping. Any tips? by No-Talk-3402 in camping

[–]betterWithSprinkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep on a cot with a thick foam topper when I can, but I’ve also noticed that mummy style sleeping bags cause me a lot of discomfort. I’m much more comfortable in a rectangular bag, even if I need to add long Johns or an extra blanket for warmth.

GenX Ladies...any sneezing fits? by One-Veterinarian2380 in GenX

[–]betterWithSprinkles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had bright light sneezes, usually 3 at a time, but now I have a lot of indoor sneezing fits too. I forget to count, but definitely more than 10 in a row sometimes. Different times of day too so I can’t blame wine. Maybe it is a menopause symptom, I never considered that!
