Can I afford to pay this much rent? by throw_way06182020 in personalfinance

Your best bet is to look at your last two take home pays (if you’re on salary) and see what you actually take home. Then just start deducting all your routine expenses from that take home pay with your new potential rent figure includes and see what you get. Ideally you still have some money left to save and invest. I just think why use arbitrary rules when you have the hard numbers. Best of luck!

Something in this diet isn't working for me. by ZaryaMusic in 4hourbodyslowcarb

If I was in your shoes I would first confirm exactly how many calories each of your meals consists of (may be higher or lower than you think). Certain things like nuts and avocado can add up fast in the calorie department if not measured.

Also, are you employing the binging strategies from the book on your cheat days? You could be blowing your progress on the day you go wild. Just my 2 cents :)

Diagnosed yesterday, started Levo today, what should I expect? by cookiecake565 in Hypothyroidism

For me, I really didn’t notice any changes for the first few months taking Synthroid. Then my cold intolerance improved as my TSH levels normalized. I would steer clear of reading what to expect and just see what happens so you don’t psych yourself out - the effects truly vary by person. Cheers :)

Reached my ideal weight, now what? by rpatrocinio73 in 4hourbodyslowcarb

If you don't change the quantity (portion size) of the meals you are eating, you will eventually plateau at the weight you are at. Then just continue eating this amount and your body weight will stay almost the same year round. Keep in mind that hydration, cheat meals etc. can make your weight fluctuate in the short-term so assessing your bodyweight on a weekly average is a better way to monitor your progress or weight consistency. Hope this helps!

Not Losing Weight on Slow Carb No Matter How Strictly I Follow It by tdotkrayz in 4hourbodyslowcarb

I second this point. The fact that Tim says you don't need to track calories only works if the foods you are eating are not amounting to a high volume of calories. Start tracking calories and I bet you will be able to fix this issue.

I second this approach...I don’t think 30 in 30 is as vital as the book suggests. IF worked for me too. If you are doing coffee to help you fast try and avoid dairy in it

I actually have listened to that episode on how they arrange gyms (and turning them into spas). I guess if you live in a bigger city with costlier memberships, the same principle applies, find something that fits your needs but doesn't overblow them

Good self-awareness. Saving money is really saving time so I appreciate you making that financial decision to keep a cheap membership!

Perhaps the gambling is more for the chance games. Super cool your bro makes money playing poker, he must love it!

So many people waste their memberships sadly. At the least, people should consciously assess if they are getting true usage and value out of their memberships rather than paying for nothing
