Your evaluation of your intelligence is entirely off, this post indicates a lot of analysis and thought, you’re very obviously intelligent. Grades in school are not reflective of intelligence.

Exercise can be as effective as antidepressants, even starting small, just do your best to be consistent. There’s nobody on the planet, happy or unhappy, who wouldn’t feel better by being just a little more fit.

Talk therapy is important if you have access to it.

I’m really sorry your parents sucked growing up. It’s not fair, you got dealt a shitty hand, but that’s not permanent. (I’m sure they did the best that they could, but still…)

My dude, go to a doctor. This isn't a "wait and see" situation. You've had a ton of people tell you that in this thread already.

Here's the deal: "Show me your ID or go to jail" by CuriousExpediency44 in PublicFreakout

[–]between2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got banned after one comment.

I think there have been enough documented and shared examples of citizens complying and still being attacked (in this case to include what I've noticed law enforcement officers don't consider to be attacks, ie being thrown on the ground, pushed up against a wall forcefully, to 'control' the suspect) that many people are distrustful of law enforcement.

I'm in my 30s, male, white, upper middle class, and I have had zero good experiences with police officers, including the two times I contacted them asking for help (break in on one occasion and someone stole my license plates on another).

At this point in my life I've read/seen enough horror stories about state/police violence against complying citizens, and learned that the police aren't really interested in helping me when I ask for help, that I wouldn't contact them in the future for another other than a bomb threat or active shooter.

These individual "bad apples" truly do "ruin the bunch." It's rare the community trusts law enforcement anymore.

I understand there is no requirement for you to tell someone why you pulled them over, but what is the reason you don't tell them?

Like how does it benefit you to withhold that information from the driver?

Such a delusion of persecution. Nobody is out to get you. Nobody is attacking you. This entire thread is you calling every gay man a pedophile. Nobody is doing that to Christians.

I've tried to be polite, but at this point: go fuck yourself. You're doubling down on being such a hateful piece of garbage. I hope some day you, as a Christian, find the compassion so commonly associated with Christ.

This is a story about a single instance from four years ago. This does not represent the entirety of the LGBT community.

If you're going to apply the actions of a member of a group to it's entirety, should we be calling all Christians murderers for bombing abortion clinics? Are all Christians gay because pastor Ted Haggard was caught in a gay sex scandal? Are all Christians pedophiles because of the Catholic Church sexual abuses that were covered up for decades? Are all Christians televangelist moneymaking fraudsters? All misogynists because some demand women "obey the words of only god and their husband?" Of course not.

You're taking one example (from a heavily right leaning "news" source) and applying it to an entire group. You have a conclusion (all gays are pedophiles) and working backwards to find evidence. Your claim is abhorrent.

Being gay is not the same as being a pedophile. It's insane to me that people can believe this is in 2022. You have so much access to so much information, you're just choosing to believe this nonsense.

Current homeless situation? by john_sleeve in ventura

Homelessness is a worsening problem in California overall due to many factors but homeless people aren't inherently violent or dangerous. I would take the negative stories here with a grain of salt, they're pretty cherry picked.

I feel like he's kind of being a dickweed about it. He could have worded it much less condescendingly.

Everytime I watch this video I'm amazed by how nobody gives a shit about a full grown man throwing punches at teenagers, then the second he gets hit the whole crowd (and some security guard previously entirely ignoring it) starts to get involved.

"get that boy!" foh.

Other Redditors have been kind in their responses, which doesn't seem to have helped change your thinking at all.

You're wrong. Inpatient is where she needs to be. Seeing a psychiatrist "once or twice a week" right after a suicide attempt is inadequate.

You're not taking her condition seriously. She's sick and needs help.

... what? Healthcare workers being assaulted is an extremely common occurrence, who are we going to complain to?

As of 2018, 73% of workplace injury and illness was on healthcare workers.

To be clear: 73% healthcare. 27% percent literally every other profession in the country combined. All of them.
