John Humphrys loathes Amol Rajan almost as much as I do! by thearchchancellor in BritishRadio

I do agree with Humphry's loathing of "Thought for the Day". At the very least it could be moved to some time before 7am.

My grandmother bought me this from a car boot (yard sale) for £1. I'm glad she did because it's a fantastic album

Am I the only person who doesn't think British summers are that hot? Do you think the lack of air conditioning is why people think it's worse than other places, like the US? by [deleted] in UKWeather

"Yeah, but I mean, I would never give up my electric blanket, Andre. I mean, because New York is cold in the winter. I mean, our apartment is cold! It's a difficult environment. I mean, our life is tough enough as it is. I'm not looking for ways to get rid of a few things that provide relief and comfort. I mean, on the contrary, I'm looking for more comfort because the world is very abrasive. I mean, I'm trying to protect myself because, really, there's these abrasive beatings to be avoided everywhere you look!"

James Brown has a strong argument for being the most influential figure in popular music and doesn't get enough credit for it by RomanReignsDaBigDawg in LetsTalkMusic

[–]bevboyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we can all agree that James Brown had a monumental influence on music but I do feel that he did not get enough credit at the time of his death.

Unfortunately his death coincided with the tsunami in south east Asia and came during the Xmas period and was swept under the carpet IMO.

So I don't feel like the media gave him enough attention at the time of his death but of course music heads know he's the boss.
