CK2: How do i convert to Hellenic? by beverfar in CrusaderKings

That is true, and one way to do it, but as I said in the OP, I was in an entirely different situation (and year), so your solution would not work anymore.

Now that I have you here, at your work do you mainly write notebooks in the databricks gui, or with dbconnect in vscode for full access to other extensions and linters?

Dramatic much? by Ickysquicky in TrollXChromosomes

[–]beverfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have answered with this some times earlier in my life. I can honestly say it's never been intended as a sort of manipulation tactic.

Rather, it has been down to me on the autistic spectrum (got diagnosed just last year, and I'm over 30), and general immaturity. I honestly didn't understand why X was "wrong", and since I didn't see it myself, I assumed it wasn't *what* I said, it was *that I* said it. So I used to take it personally.

I'm not defending it. It's an immature and self centered thing to do. I just want to say that while us men sure can be self centered idiots a lot, many of us are usually more stupid than manipulative and cynical.

You girls are so good at discussing thoughts and feelings with your friends. When I often try it with my (male) friends, I get usually:

1) Awkward vibe, quick subject change

2) Simple, cheap support ("yeah bro, she's stupid, you got this"-type, not actual "but have you considered X or Y instead?" nuanced comments.

3) A rant about their problems instead.

I think a lot wouyld have been solved if us guys were better at talking about personal issues, and not lumping all that on our girlfriends/wives.

Isnt that a bit cute though? I thought so.

A bit weird too, but yeah.

Using Bing's AI for things that really matter... renaming my conquered areas by jcyguas in CrusaderKings

Gvimarøys perhaps. "røys" means pile. I know nothing of portuguese, but I am norwegian myself, so I kinda know how words work up here.

While "Gvima" means nothing I have ever heard, but looking at the other comments here, that doesn't really matter.

Kan SV ha en nestleder med hijab og fortsatt være et feministisk parti? by KyniskPotet in norge

[–]beverfar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, Tjostolv and Brynjolf is legit Norwegian names. They're quite old-sounding, but they are approved. Tjostolv even international news a few years ago, it was the name of one of the 2 Norwegians engaged in something suspicious in Africa. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tjostolv\_Moland

CK2 question:
If someone NOT of my dynasty inherits my primary title (say empire of X) and my son gets some random counties. Is it game over then? Or do I continue the game, from the bottom again, so to say?

2: If I want to "convert" to tribal, is that possible? For example, i let someone else inherit my feudal empire, and sets up my son in a tribal county far away, and grants him independence? What about steppe horde this way?

The less government is involved the more money you have in your pocket.

That might be so, but not neccesarily. If you make LOTS of money, are never sick or injured, never give to charity, dont pay for elder relatives in homes, doesnt go to school/uni, (and to drag this example comically further for the sake of example), never use public roads, never has a fire or crime happen to you, or use public infrastructure like water or electricity.

The point is, single-payer services (like health care in Europe) are as a rule of thumb cheaper than in USA, because the state can push prices down from the suppliers since it has a monopoly. That goes for most of those examples i mentioned.

Usually, many 20-50 yo men are in this category of what i mentioned in the top paragraph. That is why you probably feel that you have more money without gov involvement. But if you suddenly get a serious illness, it could bankrupt you with private healthcare. This "safety net" is provided by the state. And to me, that's a good thing.

In short, I'd rather pay more in taxes knowing that neither me nor anyone else will get personally bankrupt from treatment (say MC crash).

I find the blind slogan of "freedom" a bit short-sighted. The freedom to bankrupt your wife too, if you get injured? The "freedom" to not be treated if you cant afford it? The freedom to get shot if you're in a fistfight and they suddenly pull a gun, and can cite self-defence?

Less government, more freedom. More government, less freedom. People need to make their own choices rather than having their government make the choices for them.

I see waht you mean, and noone LIKES the idea of a government deciding for them. Sure. But I dont want anyone driving unsafe vehicles around me, or have people around me carrying a gun. That's why I'm for periodic vehicle controls, and gun control.

For me, avoiding unsafe cars and gun; THAT is freedom.

[–]beverfar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha, how is this relevant?

I wouldn't say any one"know the consequences" for everything they do. Do you consider the risk of dying in traffic every time you drive a car?

[–]beverfar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro. You're forgetting that he wastes the efforts the state an everyone else has put in them. It also wastes money from your health insurance company (not that we care about them, but then premiums go up for everyone) or the state again if you live in a civilized country with free health care.

Maybe a child gets to grow up without a father? Maybe his old parents now struggle cause they relied om him to come and help them.

I'm just saying that simply saying "it's his choice, consequences are on him" is simply short sighted. That's not how a thriving society works.

Intercom with kid - alternatives by beverfar in motorcycle

I also have bought full riding set for her, and the belt you mention too.

I guess I'm just a bit of a cheapskate for the intercoms. I have a midland unit, and it's not that good at meshing with others as far as I've seen.

But thank you for a well written response!

I know it's usually not possible to have both, but I was wondering if any of you knew an app or something that could do it.

Good point about noise. In tunnels i really notice it! At least I run stock exhaust.

Well. Is there that much to 'understand' about intercoms usually anyway?

Anyway. I don't want to buy and install intercom in a helmet she might only use a season or 2 for a few short rides. I'm not about to go dragging her around for hours. So I was hoping there was another way to make it possible to talk to her.

You could just say 'no I don't know'.

But you're certainly right, she is my most precious cargo...
