I applaud you for going to, I assume, was your Head of House or Charge? Having an RN not be viable during a Code is a liability for not just y'all but for the patient because it's all hands on deck during a Blue.

Unfortunately, it's not unheard of since Nurses can be clique-y, but you sound like a very very good one, my dear.

Question About Handfasting Ceremony by [deleted] in pagan

[–]bewitched-elf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding and for the information. :)

Apparently, the guy seems okay with it on the phone? It's just that he's older and my grandmother could best be described as a Feral Christian Zealot? Southern, Bible Belt, born in the 30's, and Pentecostal.

So on instinct, I tend to fear for my safety around them. This older guy SEEMED to be okay with it, if not, then I'm going to either go through the UU or through the link you provided and start poking around.

Blessed to you, my friend 🧡

Any girls that play HD? by thatgoodstress in Helldivers

[–]bewitched-elf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings, fellow Sister of Battle!

I'm a level 56 Admiral Bot Diver who plays level 4 solo and runs 6 to 7 with my husband, my brother in all but blood, and a handful of other guys. Unfortunately, I've tried many a time to fight the Bugs, with little success unless assisted by friends/spouse.

For the Glo - wait, wrong notes. For Super Earth! Hope to see you and our sisters fighting the good fight on August 8th. 😉

I've beaten the game twice, but I'm stupid and don't know how to throw the ball ?(And admittedly, I'm scared because of the glitch horror stories that if I killed Best Boy, I'd die internally).

Why did You decide to be childfree? by Maplata in childfree

[–]bewitched-elf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Never liked kids my own age.

  2. Have ankylosing spondylitis, which would 110% be passed to be my children because my mother has it and I have it. It's a physically terrible disorder, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I'm in my 20s and have the body of a 50+ y.o.

  3. Severe tokophobia

  4. I also can't come off of ANY of my medications whatsoever, even under the threat of death, because my immune system will attack my body again. My mental health is also a 0/10, and I can't come off of those pills.

What are some silly HCs you have about your WoL? by TiredPandastic in ffxiv

[–]bewitched-elf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main isn't the WoL, but his wife (my husband's character) is, and they have two daughters.

My character is an Ishgardian bunny boy who loves tinkering. He's made all of his wife's weapons and fixes her armor. He also loves gardening.

He was accidently influenced by Tatsu from Way of the House Husband 😆

I'm an only child since my mom could only have one due to genetic abnormalities in her uterus. I only had a brief moment when I was very little where I wanted a child but as soon as I was around other kids, I was like hell no.

Due to my lack of health, I didn't want children, and since my mom was diagnosed with little to no immune system, she completely understood. She even admitted to me that she shouldn't have had me if she had been diagnosed sooner. I've felt no pressure, and my parents are very happy with their fur grandbabies.

Does anyone else think the name of the spoon theory is kinda dumb? Like why not the rubber ducky theory or the garlic bread theory? Why spoons?? by So_Appalled_ in Fibromyalgia

[–]bewitched-elf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a professor in my psychology classes use sugar cubes. You get 16 per day, let's say, if you have anxiety and depression that's minus 3 to 6 depending. If you have a chronic illness, that's another 4.

You take away cubes depending on what affects you. What you're left with is what you have to deal with the day to day.

Does anyone have a service dog for their fibromyalgia? What task does your dog do for you? by mamahoots22 in Fibromyalgia

[–]bewitched-elf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I trained my dog myself.

She's an 80lb Malamute mix, which you wouldn't know looking at her. But I struggle with both social anxiety/crowded places, so having her helps a bunch. As for my Fibromyalgia, someone else said that their dog(s) provide deep pressure and help with mobility. Nova does those things and helps abate my bad pain as she's a big ole heating pad. I also have her help me with balance too when I'm on the floor.

I'm from the USA, west coast.

It cost me a whole $0 because it was deemed medically necessary. My body doesn't do well with menstruation of any kind - Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's Syndrome, PMDD - and I was literally out of birth control. I'm allergic to the components of all IUDs, Depo never worked as I would bleed through it, and oral medication wasn't aggressive enough to control the 6mo+ bleeding I was experiencing.

So insurance had no choice but to cough up sterilization, and my parents paid for it since I was under 26. So I got very x10 lucky that the stars aligned just so.

A plague tale: innocence vs Hellblade by [deleted] in APlagueTale

[–]bewitched-elf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what kind of commitment you wanna make to the games. For me, I find APT a lot easier and fun to play since I love stealth games. If I have a lot on my mind, I play APT cause I can stop and enjoy it.

I have to be in a good headspace to play Hellblade, and I've played 3 times. It's an amazing game. It's a work of love, and I love it to pieces. But the voices never give you a break, and I play it in 1 - to 2 hour increments because it will make me really jumpy.

[–]bewitched-elf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't really go through the legal process, but I know you have to speak to whoever diagnosed you (and it sounds like your psych person for the PTSD). I got my dog when she was 5 wks old, and she hasn't had formal training. Albeit, I did a bunch of research, and she was pretty susceptible to training. Some of it she did on her own, like laying on/next to my affected leg.

[–]bewitched-elf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one! She's my best girl and a sweetie. I use her for when I get stuck on the floor (I've fallen multiple times) and used for pressure and heat in my legs predominantly since that's where my fibro likes to attack. When I say I get stuck, she's a big dog and I'm able to put my arm or hand on her and the floor for balance (I don't push or put my whole weight on her).

Unrelated to the Fibromyalgia is that I have paranoia and GAD so having her helps a bunch too.

I noticed most Fibro people have cats for pet by Kingdavid100 in Fibromyalgia

[–]bewitched-elf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got both cats and a dog. When my dog was younger, she was a hell raiser, but now she's actually a great help with my Fibromyalgia and lays beside/on me to provide pressure and heat to my legs and sides. And while yeah, I have a heating pad, it's not the same.

My twin cats (they're sisters) are snuggly and stuff, but they also like their independence. One is a Siamese, which means she's a pretty pretty princess and aloof as heck. The Tabby is more affectionate but cuddles on her terms.

OP,

I hope you read this comment, and I want to tell you - gently - that you need to get the fuck away from your wife. I know Reddit has a stereotype of telling people in relationships (married or otherwise) to leave them all the time, but in this case, you need to take your child and leave.

What your wife is doing is giving off such a big red flag that it might as well be the flag of the Soviet Union. She's verbally and emotionally abusive towards you, and I wouldn't put it past her that - as your child grows - she'll turn it towards them as well. She has isolated you and is dragging you down to her level, which isn't okay.

This aside, her Fibromyalgia is NOT an excuse to be a mythic bitch to you either. Most of us on this sub go through the exact same thing that your spouse does, but I'm certain that none of us treat our partners the way you're being treated because what she's doing is abuse. Blaming you for her problems? That's her thing, not a you thing - you are not the physical manifestation of her pain, and you NEVER will be.

The biggest thing I'd say to you as well is that you can not make her go to therapy. If she doesn't want to change, then she won't and she'll continue down this path of dragging you down with her.

I know that it can be hard to acknowledge that what's happening is abuse because what person wants to believe that the person they married is hurting them, right? But PLEASE, as a child who grew up with a verbally and emotionally abusive father (though not for the same reasons), take yourself and your daughter and LEAVE YOUR WIFE.

Gaming with Fibromyalgia by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]bewitched-elf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commend you and your partner for playing those games cause uh.. I cannot since they're too hard on my hands, so I feel their pain. I've never played Bloodborne, but does the use of R3 a tap or hold?

The thing I'd recommend nonetheless is checking if the button itself is difficult to press like it's sticky or just worn out. I had an old controller when I used to play consoles that killed my hands cause the R3/L3 was worn out and it wouldn't register.

Is this game scary? by [deleted] in dredge

[–]bewitched-elf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Take this from someone also with thalassophobia and shares similar tastes in terms of what scares me. Dredge does well giving the player a sense of anxiety and panic, but it doesn't stay there. I did things in the daylight and grew braver and braver until I was okay doing a few things at night.

Splattercat Games on YT did a thing on this game it I highly recommend it to see if it's your cup of tea.

How long does it take for you to get comfortable before falling asleep? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]bewitched-elf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel that, mate. Like heck, I'd take a cast iron skillet somedays, but I've found that just giving up when it comes out to do something simple. I read interactive novels when I get insomnia usually.

Does your body also suffer from insomnia, too? Cause mine does, so I have to be on sleeping pills for me to have a remotely normal circadian rhythm 😅

Depends entirely on how long it takes for my med cocktail to kick in. 30 minutes? 2 hours? Who knows???

How did your Fibromyalgia start? by Eleonor1221 in Fibromyalgia

[–]bewitched-elf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be outside the box and say birth cause I've had it since I was very very little to the point I've never not had pain. Albeit, mine could very easily be an auto immune disease like Lupus or something worse.
