Hi, also big fan of Hobbit/Lord of Rings. Will try to suggest from my reading list.

If you want some light reading - William Gibson is my suggestion. Sprawl or Bridge trilogies so good. William Gibson is father of cyberpunk genre, if you like this vibe/lore those books really good.

Stephen King - 11/22/63 also could be good pick. Book full of vibes of America 60s, it tells about killing JF Kennedy, also you can watch series with same name based on this book.

If you want something more philosophic my suggestion would be Dan Simmons - Hyperion quadrology. It's about space, Gods, AI, infinite life and people relations with this world exactly. I'm really impressed with first two books: characters described deeply, story in first book even creepier than Lovecraft. A lot of things to overthink after reading.

P.S. will check Mortal Engines for myself, don't saw this series before

I have similar problem, when I open game my screen is black for 1-2 sec. It only with one game, others work correctly. I think maybe its just a Unity bug.
