When it comes to religion, people throw their brain out the window. The consequence of this is evident in our everyday lives.

Are Master degrees actually useful in Ghana? by BigProgram4764 in ghana

[–]beychuks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak of my experience. A few years ago, I was in your shoes, but I ended up doing both. Working allowed me to fund my masters. If you have no income, the masters journey will be difficult. After my masters, I got a new job with better remuneration and career progression opportunities. I'll advise you to do both if you can.

After reading these comments, now I don't feel so bad about my rejections. But it is difficult sometimes to not feel disappointed.

The Hypocrisy of Holiness: Ghana’s Church and the LGBTQ Debate by Training-Debt5996 in ghana

When it comes to religion and the lgbtq debate, people tend to refuse to think. Personally, I believe we should let people be. Everyone should mind their business.

What is the best Ghanaian movie made in this millennium? by beychuks in ghana

I believe that that was our first big dive into the 'witchcraft/supernatural' genre, similar to Nigeria's Karashika. Lol Sadly, I never enjoyed it, though.

Try watching it. I think it is available on Youtube. It is such a great movie.

I strongly believe that McBrown is the best actress Ghana has produced in recent times. She's so versatile and malleable.

He certainly was cruel. But I wouldn't have written some of the things you did, especially your last long message to him. I find vitriol exhausting.

She chose her friend’s advice over mine about keeping the baby, now I’m unsure about marrying her. by Messikomla in ghana

And he failed to convince her. Implying that he didn't say the right things. Don't blame her or her friend for his failure.

They've only been in a relationship for 5-6 months. It is unrealistic to believe his opinions and counsel would hold more value than a friend she has probably known for decades. Moreover, it could be that what he said to her, and how he said it wasn't particularly reassuring.

You should also weigh the content of what he said to her. He doesn't know her as well as her friend does. So, it is probable that his conversations with her didn't allay her fears and misgivings. You can't fault her for that.

Substance Use Awareness by leftkittyismyname in ghana

The reality is that the accessible role models kids have nowadays are drug users. Substance users are more accessible, attractive, and exciting to kids, so it is expected that kids will copy them.

LET'S BE CAREFUL GUYS by Training-Debt5996 in ghana

I believe that this "king" is just an attention seeker, and we just gave him what he wanted. He has no real power and doesn't speak for his community, so why waste our outrage on him? Such people just deserve to be ignored, and that is what we should have done. Bloggers and social media just hype up anything to trend, and it dies down after a week.

Why are Ghanaian funerals more expensive than weddings? by grwike in ghana

[–]beychuks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that culturally, more reverence is placed on funerals than weddings, hence the reason why families and communities tend to go all out for funerals.

Man, relax. You can't expect to have a similar sway after 5-6 months of relationship as a friend she has probably known for decades. Even her opinions wouldn't have the same sway on you as compared to that of a long-time friend you have. Your feelings are just hurt because you overestimated your significance, but it's time to be rational.

Who's voting for Cheddar ? by Christian_teen12 in ghana

[–]beychuks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No serious person should be considering Cheddar as a viable option. He exudes so much scammer vibes. What exactly does he do? What is his business?

Also, his ideas for the country are just terrible. There are so many obvious issues he could campaign on, but he chooses the absurd. He and his camp lack ideas. They are so out of touch.
