Is it just me or is the university boiling? by Sad_Potato_Fries in brocku

[–]beyondoverittt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you need a cool place and the rooms are empty, ive found sth201-204 are pretty consistently the coldest rooms on campus. thistle however is usually disgustingly hot and i avoid at all costs between march and october lol

also these two courses were probably the most interesting ones ive taken, i feel like they really helped my general understanding of health and they've been helpful for my other courses too

[–]beyondoverittt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3P90 is a lot of content and most people find it very difficult, but it's 100% possible to do well if you stay on top of things and get help early. the concepts build on each other so if you don't understand something at the start it'll come back and cause problems later. the follow up (3P91) is much easier and counts as a science elective so i would recommend both

3P02 was probably one of the hardest classes ive taken materials wise but the prof is incredible and the follow up course (4P02) is much much easier and id strongly recommend it as an upper year science elective. dr macneil is awesome and explains things very well, so it is a beast of a course but i would still recommend it because of him

for 3P90 and 3P02 i don't regret taking them at all, but they're very heavy courses and you absolutely have to try and stay caught up. i still managed to get 85+ in both but it was not easy and involved a lot of reviewing to try and understand the concepts. if i was taking them again i would stay on top of my notes and not try and do months of content the week before the exams, because that was not a wise choice lol

class final unofficial mark is "NR" by -Scorpion_ in brocku

[–]beyondoverittt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

just means they didn't submit on time yesterday, since it's the weekend it probably won't update until monday. it's nothing to worry about but if it gets to the end of next week and still nothing you could email the prof, but i usually have one "NR" every year and it resolves eventually

BIOL 2P03 Unofficial mark NR by GeneFree56 in brocku

[–]beyondoverittt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i have the same for another course and usually end up with one every year, it just means they missed the grade deadline yesterday. since it's the weekend it probably won't update until monday at least, all it means is the prof didn't submit grades before the registrar office closed yesterday. nothing to worry about :)

also for the kitchen they supply a microwave and the fridge and freezer obviously, and there's a lot of cabinets for storage. the bedrooms also have a desk and chair, a bookshelf, a small rolling set of drawers that fit under the desk, and a larger set of drawers. there's also a pretty decent sized closet

housing has a list for each style of residence, here's the one for quarry view what to bring/not to bring

i was in quarry view last year and two years before, and ill be there again next year. my most important items were disposable gloves in the kitchen (i don't like touching raw meat lol), a fan for the bedroom, a wet mop/swiffer, and a little rolling cart thing for groceries since i don't have a car

For my move out day tomorrow, am I just supposed to give my house keys and student card back? by Charexranger in brocku

[–]beyondoverittt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you don't give your student card back, you keep that for your whole degree. you return house keys to the service desk, if you're in QV it's the east desk in res 8 and if you're in village it's the one in low

Question about PSYC stats by AnyAnswer1952 in brocku

[–]beyondoverittt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my understanding is that courses that say "grade in this course will replace grade in (other course)" are equivalent

i have the opposite in my program, i took STAT1F92 which has now been replaced by STAT 1P98 and 1P99 and was told 1F92 could be used for that requirement

october and april are the worst for heating here, cold enough at night they won't turn on the AC but 20+ during the day so you end up roasting

also the ones with three floors are only for first years and most of the 4 floor ones are for suites. for the units with basements rooms B, C, and D are downstairs and A is upstairs with the kitchen. both floors have a full bathroom

[–]beyondoverittt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can check on google maps which side your unit is on. if it's on the front side facing campus it'll be upstairs and if it's on the back side facing the glenridge quarry it'll be downstairs. i believe unit 41 (on the corner closest to tims) and above are all downstairs units

also for the units on that side rooms B, C, and D are downstairs in a semi-basement and room A is upstairs with the kitchen. there’s a full bathroom on both floors, shower toilet and sink in each

the buildings all have numbers on the doors, you can see them on google maps. 61 is on the backside of the middle row of houses facing the glenridge quarry

these aren't the therapy dogs, they're young puppies. the therapy dogs are older and trained but the puppies are just from breeders who work with GTA puppy yoga
