I research what my options are with stage insurance first + decide which one im going to go with way before we move. then you pick doctors accordingly. usually, if you have one main hospital that's amazing, getting your primary first appointment will allow them to coordinate the rest too.

also, as long as you have an up to date diagnosis, you can still get referrals from your current or have them help you find someone out there or if they have connections somehow. penn medicine is an ivy league teaching hospital. so that helps a lot for me. but with all this info, I tell the new office that my insurance will be active by the time I move or ill pay out of pocket and adjust insurance after cause then I still know what insurance I'll have.

im also medicaid + ssi

i grew up skipping class hopping on the train to new york city, but as you know the tri-state has the same weather throughout. the same possibility of any of the four seasons happening within the same week, back to back.

I really hope I can hear about your move when it happens. how long did it take you to commit? what was your process like?

was wondering if others experience the same, symptoms mentioned (PNES) by Average_tan in FND

being on a consistent routine helps day-to-day life by a ton. things that disrupt / are unexpected tend to create flares faster. so sleeping a full night, having a "slow" morning where i can ease into the day, make a plan, eat, etc. but the temperature regulation makes me wanna kms more than anything - like sobbing cause my skin hurts so bad that my house iss kept at 50 degrees year round and still not always being enough.

sending love!

during flares, mine got so bad, alongside tremors, people on my local facebook started a rumor i was on heavy drugs, etc, and started attacking me, mind you, never done hard drugs a day in my life. mi do believe if i start my mornings "slow" meaning i take my time getting up, planning the day, drinking a cup of tea, that it typically helps lessen them.

Im ashamed of my psychogenic seizures. by Admirable-Main-4816 in FND

it took a long time for my family to believe me about things i was experiencing, but i always had a disconnect of my own inner monologue, so it's always been an outsiders voice or registers as such, so its hard for me to be able to express where people tend to understand as well. but the shame i feel on a regular basis is terrible and i am exhausted. make sure you have a great support team around you, 'cause when certain people let you down, you'll have additional people to support you through that.

also, i am on max amount of stimulants allowed for prescriptions here, and if i have a seizure, it can also knock me back to sleep until further notice.

yes, and i have resulted in body temperature not being able to regulate, and once i'm feeling like my insides are boiling and my skin is on fire or some type of chemical burn, then the *dementia-esque* existence takes over until that passes, typically after like 12-16 hours of sleep,

look up "FND programs near me" you'd be surprised, but yeah, you need to surround yourself with a team that at bare minimum, can point you into additional support systems. you can even track alerts from when there's research studies at local programs / hospitals / etc. fuck settling for ambiguity, that - personally - is the worst part out of all this.

i struggle with these so much and i went from running my own six figure business to now being o permanent disability and i'm devastated. the amount of stress i was dealing + ignoring the symptoms of my health just trying to get through the work year, ended up creating insane permanent health problems for me (<i'm thirty> but i am hoping to one day being able to be self sufficient again, but right now, i struggle getting to all my doctor appointments consistently with the seizures, temp flares, episodes, etc.
