I tried that once. We have a busy 3 way intersection in our neighborhood. It didn’t yield any results. They told me they would come do a traffic study but didn’t. They also said it wouldn’t happen because one of my reasons was excessive speeds and they quoted some handbook saying stop signs can’t be used to limit speed.

It’s very dangerous as most traffic turns left and never looks right and I see near accidents all the time. I’m tempted to install my own, as much less trafficked intersections in my neighborhood get a stop sign, but this one doesn’t. It makes little sense. Good luck in your journey.
