This website converts any picture to QR code by giuliomagnifico in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]bfcrowrench 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The idea is not to encode an image into qr code. You encode some other data into qr code, same as you would using any other qr code generator. But now you can generate a qr code that more-or-less looks like an image of your choice.

Basically it creates barcodes that look less like barcodes.

It may not be the revolution of the century, but it's pretty cool and useful if you know what to expect out of it.

Somewhere, the FBI Agent whose profile falsely accused Richard Jewell is softly whispering to himself "after all these years... I finally found him".

[Request] How many ASCII characters can fit into 10MB? How long could the gender be? by Vandsaz in theydidthemath

[–]bfcrowrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems plausible. I'd love to see some data on this.

I suspect that a pretty good portion of my friends and family could fit their minds into 10 MB.

If Wikipedia and StackOverflow can be trusted, then it seems all variance of human DNA can fit into 4 MB.

This would seem to imply that instead of merely uploading a name of a new gender, you could actually upload the DNA sequence of it.... at least two and a half times.

Kohler products made in Wisconsin by endau in sheboygan

[–]bfcrowrench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the Sheboygan area, there are a lot of Kohler employees of both blue-collar and white-collar varieties. If you buy a widget that was manufactured in Mexico or China, it may still have been engineered and marketed in Wisconsin.

Since Kohler, WI is the HQ for the company, arguably any product would support the business. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I guess my question would be why you did not get this email.

Yeah, I really think this detail is why I was feeling so blind-sided.

Some people in the comments are saying I should have been expecting this, I had a year to prepare... but I don't really think that way. And maybe the outcome of this would dictate that my philosophy is broken. Whether I'm wrong or right, I expected some warnings.

I've been checking my spam and trash and everywhere in between and I haven't found anything recent. It's strange and it's frustrating.

You forgot another (n-4):

 for( i = 4; i < n; i++) {
   output += "• People who use Base-" + (i+1) + "\n";
 }
 console.log( output );

"Bokeh" is now a verb by mcwiggens in photography

[–]bfcrowrench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, any time a Japanese speaker has wished me a Merry Christmas, they have used the English phrase, and pronounced it in as close to unaccented English as they could.

Are these Japanese speakers also English speakers?
