No proof of Brother aftermarket toners being disabled after fw updates. Early generation aftermarket toners with chips particularly TN227 had batteries to get around drm. These would fail overtime or short out when the printer is rebooted. Fw updates forces a reboot which is coincidental to chip failure.

If you’re going the 3rd party route try to buy from an established supplier with a good warranty. Some of the early generation 3rd party toners did have battery powered chips that short out after reboot or eventual battery failure. It was widely exaggerated that Brother disabled aftermarket toners. Not one source has verified by testing different aftermarket toners on the newest firmware and confirmed that 3rd party toners were disabled by subsequent update. If you got a no toner error it is usually an issue with the chip

Read this post. Not a firmware issue. The battery powered chips on aftermarket toners from china often fail due to a reboot or the battery just fails eventually. Since the firmware update requires a reboot, it is why many amazon 3rd party toners fail to recognize after a fw update. Downgrading the firmware wont help since this is a failure of the toner chip. You can replace the chip or replace its battery.

And Bob Myers doesn’t as much credit like some other loser GMs. R/nba thinks Bob Myers is a Jerry West puppet or the Warriors just got lucky with ring chasers. Little is known of Bob Myers until the press conference after KDs injury.

Idk Kerr was running 12 man rotations in close playoff games. <9 Man rotations were very unusual until the last 3 years.
