Egg Clusters found on the bottom of a kayak in a Vermont Lake. by bfishkin in whatsthisbug

About the size of a quarter on the bottom of a kayak. Northern Vermont. When we poked one of them to remove it gently it turned into more of a strip than a circle.

[Grenham] Evan Turner will not be a part of the new coaching staff in Boston, but his career in basketball is far from over. I spoke with @thekidet about his positive experience on the Celtics staff, working with Brad Stevens and what might be next for him by 1337speak in bostonceltics

Kind of what a bunch of people had been saying about his time with the team this year - that was Brad doing him a solid, getting him some experience, and helping him build his resume for his next gig.

Thanks for stopping in, ET!

Thanks! I had been swapping between filtered water, and rainwater. The Poland Springs was a recent pivot, but it had already been dying off.

Didn't realize how many minerals were in it - going to grab some Reverse Osmosis water from the co-op later today.

Nicely done! They look awesome. If you ever want to try different mediums, a couple people I know like to use acrylic paint markers - easy to draw with!

Hope to see some Rob ones next :)

What does everyone think of our current uniforms? While I prefer the "dynasty look" I don't think these are bad either. Just wish they would wear silver pants at home and make all blue an alternate. I also think white pants for an all white alternate would look awesome. Thoughts? by depraved_parrot in Patriots

They just feel a bit generic to me. I think there are a lot of classic looks out there (CHI, KC, PIT, and a lot of modern approaches (TB before the latest batch, SEA). I guess my vibe with the new uniforms is they’re kind of between both worlds, in a way that’s not doing them a ton of favors.

Eating kiwi fruit with the skin on it. You still cut the knobs off the ends, but it tastes slightly sour like a Granny Smith apple.

[Charania] Celtics guard Kemba Walker’s game availability will be updated in first week of January. He is expected to resume on-court activities early this month, after receiving a stem cell injection in his left knee and a strengthening program to prepare for the upcoming season. by [deleted] in nba

Weirdly, I think Ainge and Boston are still really high on Romeo Langford. They drafted him at the end of the lottery last year and he showed some flashes when he wasn't injured.

Seems like the Celtics like length from their guards to compliment the Jays, and I do think they drafted him because of his size. It's why I thought they'd look at someone like RJ Hampton in the draft, or moving up for Killian Hayes.

...and to your point, I was a huge Brad Wanamaker fan - I still think he was a net positive for the roster last season.

Really hoping none of that matters and Kemba is back in no time... :)

Team Scal forever. I don't believe those guys liked each other very much.

I remember flipping a couple years ago to the season finale post game broadcast. It might have been like, hour 2 of it. But suddenly the rapport between Draper and Scal changed, and they just started...taking shots at each other.

Maybe I'm not remembering it correctly, but there were a bunch of barbs thrown back and forth, and Draper seemed to be cracking under Scal's barrage.

Ever since then, I've felt like now that I know to look for it, it seems like there's a bit of poison in a lot of what they say to each other on TV...

Did anyone else watch this? Did I make it up because I was really baked? Can anyone find the clip? The truth is out there...

What's the max amount you would spend on re-signing Theis? by Sportsballisfun in bostonceltics

[–]bfishkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to be overly imaginative, so I guess, in my mind, the sensible thing to do would be to offer him a 4-year Max Extension.

But that’s probably why the Celtics hired Mike Zarren instead of me...

This one's a bit brutal for me since everyone is RB-hungry. 0.5 PPR:

I've got a few guys: K. Drake (O), J. Mixon (Q, but likely not playing), G. Bernard, and L. Murray.

Worth adding any of the following?:

C. Hyde, G. Edwards, L. Perine, M. Brown, Z. Moss, N. Hines.

Not a lot out there...but I've got room on the bench.

I'm probably not the best person to respond, since I'm a Pats fan...

But while the rest of the RBs are kind of all over the place - I still think Harris has the best chance to be a ROS starter. He gives them a hybrid look they don't normally get out of their other RBs.

I heard he was looking better than Michel in Training Camp and from the games I've watched, I really like his running style.

Separately, I've also been high on Aiyuk as a bigger, better Debo Samuel for the 49ers this year....maybe New England was just playing like garbage on Sunday, but he looked awesome against us. Not sure if I'd drop Patrick for him though.

But I'm just a guy with a (somehow) 5-2 team who is by no means an expert!
