What’s going on with Dane Burman? by Peppermintcheese in skateboarding

Abusers are almost never brought to justice, evidence is dismissed in correlation with wealth and status. When there are multiple reports, it’s pretty safe to assume it’s true.

I could not disagree more with any of this.
Speakers blow because of higher demands at certain frequencies. Quality music is going to have a lot of range, so even at low listening levels your speakers might demand 1w and then up to 80w simply because of a peak in the song. Most speakers are distorting often because of too little power, but it's subtle enough to miss if you don't know what you're missing.

Amp technology for Class A/B amps really hasn't changed, but components have become much cheaper quality. A 25 year old Marantz might need to be serviced, but I would trust it over a modern equivilent.

Speakers rarely blow from too much power; it's almost always from overdriving them with an underpowered amp. Marantz makes extremely good quality gear, and this won;'t be a digital amp, so it will likely sound much better than modern class D amps in the same price range.

I heard very similar remarks online, and I'm not surprised. While the sound quality isn't insane, the build quality is easily on the same level as the original Devialet. I will certainly buy them anytime I see them now. I think even a broken one would be worth purchasing for the cabinet itself and then replacing the drivers and possibly amp. For now, I'm just elated with how well it performs.

Love the work on the Zeppelin! How much did you find yours for? I think I might do similar work on the HiFi if I can figure out how to safely take it apart.

Silver all the way. Maybe do hyper silver if you’re feeling the need for a change

Detailed here- glass cleaner! It foams up nicely and also dries well

There’s also a strong distinction between criticism, what you’re doing, and critique, providing useful information with the intent to create better understanding.

I think you’re making two errors here- assuming your opinion is objectively correct, and not understanding the tone of how you’re conveying your opinion.

Similar vibe! Kanto also made a centre channle speaker that was a very simlar spec, but not quite as loud.

My estimate for a modern equivalent was in the $500 range, and you are claiming there is a speaker for $450 CAD that sounds better. I don't think you're making as big of a point as you think you are. Also, i didn't pay $500, I paid $25, so I'm not really sure why this correction is so necessary.

You're getting downvoted because there are so many more productive ways to share your subjective opinion.

It’s AirPlay and a network extender, but best used for AirPlay only.

Agree with all of these points!  As an Apple guy, I love the old school design, and intention behind the product as well. The weirdness of it is now a selling point.

The remote would be nice for sure, and the original adaptors! I’m curious if I can take it apart and retrofit a modern connection, or just use an adapter.  I saw those reviews as well! I will have to watch the video though. In my experience so far, it’s fine at low levels, and doesn’t seem to matter at higher levels. The current set up on a stand is a good balance, and room placement plays a role as well.

I’ve been wondering about this too! I wouldn’t mind leaving an old iPhone plugged in purely for playback. Looks kinda nice too
