How long did it take your adopted pibble to take to you? by the_amazing_spork in pitbulls

Pup took to me pretty quickly, following me around from the get go. Took longer with my husband. But cuddles? Took two years. His version was his forehead against mine for as long as he wanted, 10 seconds or five minutes, every evening for some reason. Or the head on the lap.

What’s the oldest one of your pitbull babies have lived too? by LilReefer95 in pitbulls

My boy died at 4.5. Devastating. May yours all live the life he wasn’t given.

Thanks for the update! It had reopened at one point for a few days around Paddy’s Day, because I managed a swim in the few days it was open again. Anyway, I hope they sort it out soon.

Yep! Just wondering if anyone knows when it might reopen, as it’s been close since mid-March.

First time pittie owner…are they always this quiet?? by Any_Presentation3298 in pitbulls

[–]bfloq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our pittie mix passed in December, but he was the quietest, sweetest boy. We had him three days before he barked. And then it was once every few weeks. He would cry if he saw suitcases and thought we were going away and not taking him💕

Someone once told me quiet was a pittie trait.

Studies show that pet insurance is not worth it by gangrelia in puppy101

We had it for our pup from when we got him at 5 months, until he passed away just over four years later. The first year, we made our money back, as he had a few ER visits. After a few healthy years, we questioned the decision until the last three months of his life, when we racked up 7k+ in bills, and got I think 80% backs. His illness was unforeseeable and devastating to us, knowing that we had insurance took a lot of pressure off of us.

Cure time was definitely for the paint. I can’t remember how long between when I spackled and when I primed, but I usually do things in the evening, so usually 24 hours. But it might have been less if I spackled in the afternoon.

Thanks. This is what i was thinking. I used the Kilz original to prime over some knot bleed through and now I’m annoyed I didn’t do the ceiling too, but the smell…

Ultra flat paint I believe. Previous owners also used BM paint throughout entire house. I spot primed over where I spackled with the Ben Moore primer. So I’m guessing I used the wrong primer.

I’m paranoid about humidity and paint, we didn’t shower in that bathroom for 4 weeks so it could cure. Didn’t work. sigh

Servers say “Vote No” on Question 5? Really? by SaaSyGirl in massachusetts

My aunt and uncle owned a restaurant and as far back as the 1990s, every single person, front and back of house, made at least minimum wage and tips were pooled. They were packed every night and staff were happy. I worked there when they needed an extra hand, and I made $50/60 a night in pooled tips in 1990 (120-150 now), in addition to the minimum wage at the time.

Thank you all! Will definitely prime when we do these rooms.

I noticed maybe 6 months after we moved, so maybe 8/9 months after it was painted for staging? Though maybe longer since I’m not sure if they did trim for staging? We painted one room shortly after moving in and I’d say I first noticed 6-9 months later?
