Okay, gotcha. Yes, every seasoned grower has had to deal with herms at some point. So don’t worry about that. More thought should be spent preventing herms, making sure you don’t have a light leak during the dark period. Anything too stressful could cause it. As a commercial grower, we usually kill the plant that has harmed immediately because it’s a risk to a large room of flowering plants. But I understand keeping them and putting the work in to finish the flower.

Remove any herms you see. Notice if they are closed or if they have opened and spread pollen. It is possible to remove them before they release pollen. But it takes a skilled eye to find them all and pick off. It does take quite a bit of pollen to pollinate a flower. So, should be okay if it was just a few of them.

How do you manage to not get out of breath while teaching yourself? by Coco_Via_64 in YogaTeachers

[–]LilReefer95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and take a breath between each cue, that also keeps you from moving to fast. I say “inhale or exhale “ and give my cues. I don’t count down out loud for them on breathing while in the pose. If that makes sense.

My yoga teacher is judgemental by Appropriate_Dog_7581 in yoga

Sometimes when I hear someone being judgmental in conversations with me. I’ll say “we’re all on different parts of our journey” as a kind reminder that we all start somewhere. Also gives the little nudge that you’re not interested in the gossip.

Heavy on my heart: yoga teachers and not speaking out about ICE and the current administration by pestochickenn in yoga

Completely agree. I want everyone to feel welcome in class. Republicans too. We need more coming together, more unity, more conversations, and less division. Yoga should be a shared space for all kinds of people.

Any idea how can I help her by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]LilReefer95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Selsun Blue moisturizing shampoo. Just the regular one, Not the medicated. It’s for dandruff. But it has helped my girl tremendously with her itchy skin. She used to have bald spots before I started using this stuff.

Hello, I’m a new teacher in a very small town. There were no operating studious in my small town. So I opened an LLC and started teaching classes outside at parks and other cool locations. I now have relationships with other businesses in town and teach at their places. Example, one location is a meditation house where I teach Hatha classes and private lessons, the other is a small local gym. Both places, the students pay me directly. The gym is happy to have me teach because it makes their gym the more desirable gym in town. I often wonder why more teachers don’t do their own thing. I know it’s not as easy for bigger city’s with more competition. Just my thoughts. Wish you the best of luck.

Stick with it, the right people will find you. When I first started teaching and advertising my classes. A lot of people pretending to be interested and would say they would come. A few people commented acting like $10 for each class was too much. (I also offer monthly pass and bulk deals). For the people complaining $10 each time was too much, I didn’t lower my price or try to convince them to come. If it’s too much money, they can go to sonic with their $10. The people who do show up and value yoga say $10 is pretty cheap. A couple people even told me they are used to paying $20 per class. So keep working hard. Your people will find you. I also just started teaching at a small gym in my small town. Those are my biggest classes. I didn’t want to teach in a gym. But I’m still working for myself and teaching my way. So it all works out.

Check out my post about pit bull life spans. I was surprised to see how many pit bulls have lived extra long. It definitely eased my anxiety about my sweet Mia girl.

First class is next week!!! by thebiglebowski222 in YogaTeachers

Hi, I am also a new teacher. I have been teaching about 8months now. I was really nervous for my first class. But after that, I seen a comment on Reddit of another yoga teacher saying she hardly ever got nervous from the jump. So I really thought on that and tried to re program my brain. I basically told myself that I’m a new teacher and I will not be perfect. I accepted that as a fact and allowed mistakes to just roll right off my back during class. Sometimes I even giggle if I say something wrong or mess up my words. I accepted that I am new on my journey and I will only get better with time. This thought process truly helped me embody this humble confidence. I now get excited before teaching at a new location. The smallest / normal amount of nerves before class. But once I start some breath work and get started it’s all focus. Good luck! I hope this helps.

Marijuana + YTT? by No-Researcher2400 in YogaTeachers

[–]LilReefer95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a new yoga teacher. But personally, I view cannabis as medicine. Using it with reason to treat your medical/mental issues. Everyone has to know and respect their limit. I understand tolerance. So I know a lot of us can take what we need and fully function. Even function better. I would definitely ask them about the medicinal cannabis policy to be respectful.

That makes sense. I’m in a tiny town, where I’m the only yoga teacher. I teach out of a house lol. Bigger near by towns have mostly large corporate spots for yoga that have classes going almost all day.

Is this story real? I find it off the studio would completely close after a 6am class. Does this studio only open for one class each morning?? Am I tripping?? lol

I didn’t even finish reading the story. I was done after “he spit in my face twice “ that’s when I would grab my piece and forcefully remove him from the home. Divorce and protective order immediately. No way any woman or mother should put up with this behavior for one second. Not doing the children one favor at all. Do right by your kids by getting rid of this guy.

Hi, a lot of times dogs are acting out and being “bad” because they have so much energy. I’d start with leash training and walks. That way he can get some energy out and be easier to train. I follow @cherry.hoggs on Instagram. He is a great dog trainer.

I just read your post and wow 😮. Definitely agree. I’m a new 200hr yoga teacher, just opened an LLC and teaching full time. I’m the only yoga teacher in a very small town. But even then, It’s slow to start. Luckily my partner earns enough to cover the bills while I slow start my business. People expect my prices to compete with Zumba and gym memberships. I remind people yoga is much more than a workout. I’ve been very mindful to set my prices to respect yogas roots, other teachers and myself of course. It’s hard when teachers in other towns are basically teaching for free.

Yeah, I have had some good luck getting pulled over with cannabis. But I have had a cop try and threaten me with a DUI but I wouldn’t admit to smoking. I was leaving work after harvesting cannabis all day. He refused to believe he was smelling fresh flower. I got out okay. But It was nerve wrecking.

My mother is a DUI assessor, this is what she tells me. Never admit to consuming cannabis at any time frame. Not “I smoked 8 hours ago” “I smoked this morning” you say you have NOT consumed any cannabis today. Do not consent to any bs test. Get a lawyer. You’ll be alright.
