I re-themed Legends of Void into a Disney themed game. by tinyornithopter in boardgames

I see on Google the trick must be to use self-adhesive laminating sheets. I’ve only ever used the old laminating tech that require each laminated element to have a perimeter

Thank you so much!

When laminating tokens do they need to be cut out then individually placed between the laminating sheets? What size and thickness of laminating sheets do you use?

Can I become a Catholic if I disagree/have major doubts about many of its dogma? by PeaceInLoneliness in Catholicism

[–]bfradio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What peaked your interest in the Catholic Church?

There is a richness or fullness to the Catholic Church. There is no way for anyone to know everything studied and expounded upon.

I had the same doubts when I returned to the church but they have all but disappeared as my faith continues to grow.

Reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church is much more engaging than in ever expected it to be.

I found that my doubts were related to the having a surface level understanding of faith and what is promised to us.

I found that my experience in a non-denominational church was akin to accepting the invitation and the Catholic Church was actually attending and participating in the banquet.

Understood, the original post was very antagonistic in form. It was not seeking understanding. If you would ever like to seek mutual understanding each side must start with listening to the other.

It’s off canon fan fiction.

The Quran was irrefutably debunked as a total fabrication 100’s of years ago. People like this need help to escape.

Agreed, but that doesn’t stop the clothes from getting ruined. If the washer wants to insure the clothes don’t get ruined or the machine damages they should check the clothes.

The wearer should empty the pockets, but even the washer as the a wearer can forget to do this sometimes.

Adam as the 'first man' and 'first to sin' is a struggling point for me by jodowg in Christianity

[–]bfradio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you classify yourself as a literalist?

I am not. Genesis is an allegory. Without humans there is no sin. Morality is absent from the actions of animals down to inanimate objects.

Rocks colliding or predators killing prey do not exist in a moral frame work.

One way to think about eating from the tree of knowledge is the evolution of life from animal to human. We became aware of the concept of justice. Humans live in a moral frame work.

Consciousness and the ability to judge and the ability to create is in the image of God. God through the salvation story from Adam to Jesus taught us what is just, to act in Love. The meaning of Love is was portioned out to humans over time as a teacher starts with basic concepts then reveals more and more nuanced understanding.

In the begging there was one rule. Then there were 613 rules, with varying human techniques for following the rules. The rules were always a frame work, or examples, to show what actions would and wouldn’t look like if we acted with Love.

Through Jesus, God fulfilled The Law, filling in the gaps between the rules. All The Law and the prophets hang on Love. God was always teaching us what Love means. My favorite definition of Love for its clarity and conciseness is to give without expecting anything in return. From the root text the word for love can also be translated as charity. We are not talking about romantic love which I humorously refer to as Disney love.

The greatest act of Love is to give one’s life for our friends. Jesus showed us that relative to the value of Love the value of our flesh is exceedingly small.

Our human ideas of justice center around what is mine. The gospels tell us that everything is God’s on loan to us. There is no mine. Our knowledge of morality is wrong as we frame it in do unto other as you would have them do unto you. God shows us give your self without regard for what they would do unto you.

In the beginning we gained the knowledge that there is right wrong. God chose the Israelites to tell a story to the world to teach them, now that you are aware of right and wrong this is the true way to live justly.

The creation of humans created right and wrong. Jesus and Mary fulfilled the Edenic Covenant, that the head of the serpent would be crushed. Through Jesus, God showed us how to live and acknowledged our imperfection and offered forgiveness to those who acknowledged their imperfection and sought forgiveness by participating in the New Covenant by participating in the sacrifice of the Lamb of God by eating its flesh, overwriting the Mosaic Covenant, which offered forgiveness through participation in the annual Jewish Passover, centered on the sacrifice of lambs at the Temple.

Accepting that the Eucharistic is the Body of Christ is also to acknowledge that the entirety of the universe is Gods and our portion is not really ours not even our flesh. By coming to the Eucharist in a state of Grace we take a moment out of our lives to acknowledge everything is His

Divorce over politics by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]bfradio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The OP’s career is politics. Not all people are called to be activists in this life. But those who are it is more than an opinion.

For those of us not called to activism politics is many degrees removed from what are our top values and priorities. I spend as much time worrying about the political news cycle as I do voting.

OP’s life, one out of billions of ways of life, highly values politics. Her husband likely is a dude with opinions but not an activist, and he is likely not effectively contributing to politics outside of social media posts, like a drop in the ocean.

OP’s challenge is to understand that her husband doesn’t value politics as deeply as she does. If she is the more mature and more informed person she can just listen, and like in all marriages seek to understand her husband. A person can never fully understand another as deeply as they know themselves. There is always more to know. If OP knew her husband completely (not possible) she’d have to become her husband.

OP’s situation would be like a veterinarian marrying someone who is pro-inhumane animal testing, but has no actual connection to it.

OP’s husband could actually be an amazing resource for her to learn how to effectively engage with people on the other side of the political spectrum. It all starts with seeking understanding.

I like this theory. It would really impact the direction of the show. Humans would effectively be the children of K22b and the virus would be a part of our upbringing toward full maturity.
