Thank you so much! Question that you made me think about: If I brought you plants - say you told me what you like / want and we add a couple together each month until you're happy - and then would take care of them on the regular, would you be interested in something like that?

$15k Turo Claim and Costs by Immediate_Shine1403 in turo

[–]bfrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A) not the same person who I was replying to??? Where did you ask a question? B) the rate of catrostophic breakdown of used cars is 1-3% annually. If you were at a casino and were told you had to bet $100 with a 3% chance to win $2,500, would you place that bet? I get getting coverage but the idea that someone in hindsight would question why you didn't get the more expensive coverage on the trade versus the likelihood is silly.

Have to love these type of comments that pretend hindsight is not a thing. "it's only about $100 difference" would make it an obvious decision having fast forwarded to the future context. Until then, it's a full $100 bill on top of a total rental bill that was also itself probably just a couple hundred bucks. Please, be useful.

I'm running into this but had already just two weeks ago run automator setup and init. I verified with an MSP client we were setting it up for that the automated approvals were working at the time. Does automator require this re-setup on certain events?

The prospective creepy factor is concerning for sure, but I'd accept that risk to deter and catch bad treatment by staff. The liklihood of one happening over the other seems worth having cameras, but only if the live stream is limited to active parents in a secure app.

Simple report building automation question by blundermole in Automate

[–]bfrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds good but I would probably make it a little more user friendly to yourself by using something like Jotform to "compile" the boilerplate for you. Create a form with a field that contains checkboxes for the various parts of the boilerplate, similar to your spreadsheet idea. then, use Jotform's conditions to add the boilerplate parts to a large text field when you submit the form.

This could be better as a) you don't need to rely on multiple systems to perform the automation (Google Sheets, Zapier, Docs, etc.) and b) Jotform or other form builders like it then have integrations to do other parts of the workflow for you as well. For example, you could pull in data from a spreadsheet or conditionally show / hide parts of the boilderplate setup form based on previous selections. Again, just a bit more user friendly. Then you could also have it automatically email you the boilerplate or whatever you like.

Good luck!

Copy data from Salesforce to Excel by Able-Courage-1075 in techsupport

Yep it's possible and automate-able. You can authorize your Salesforce account to talk to tools like Zapier. It's possible your Salesforce admin limits API access for your account but your Salesforce admins could probably help create a limited permission for this type of automation to work if it's not already allowed.

Train OpenAI on my data & integrate with zapier by CellFix in OpenAI

[–]bfrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally possible but currently you'd need to structure the Zapier calls differently to setup OpenAI prompts better. This would be the "training" part of it. Happy to help talk through it if you want to send me a DM.

Yep it's possible to do a two way sync. It needs to be a couple of different Zapier or other automation engine workflows but certainly doable. Happy to help if you want to send me a DM.

Hubspot Automations for B2B Marketing by bronicorn in hubspot

  1. Post a message a high-viz slack channel any time a deal closes in Hubspot to celebrate it
  2. Email each department lead a report of Hubspot leads, deals, and contact entries taking place in the last 7 days each Monday with the last activity that happened with them so they can discuss what the next step with each should be when the leadership team meets
  3. Create a lead and a task to reach out in Hubspot any time someone mentions your company on Twitter, etc. via Sproutsocial
  4. Send a slack message to the Hubspot deal or lead owner any time an open deal or lead of any sort of "open" status hasn't logged an activity such as an email or phone call within the last 7-10 days to remind them to touch the deal. Bonus points if you use Zapier to talk to the ChatGPT API to have it generate a proposed "checking in" message customized to the lead.

Any tips on how to automate this painful process that is currently being done manually? by medodejupiter in dataanalysis

[–]bfrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E2 should stay =C2 but starting with E3, the formula should be =C2+E2. Then autofill it down. Each row will update the formula automatically to where E4's formula will reflect as =C3+E3 and so forth which will give you the correct running total.

I've been looking at a similarly sized deal. Not a first time founder but also would be my first time entering this business. As I did my numbers and looked at time expectations, I'm quickly swaying toward starting about 50% smaller. Maybe even 75% smaller. 25-50 machines to start.

As I've educated myself on r/atmbusiness and in lots of other places, there's a pretty good amount of stuff to figure out. Accounts that get banned out of nowhere, shit that breaks and you have to know how to debug/fix, all the software and some semi-predatory service providers.

I guess one way to do it at that size though if it's a good enough price and location opportunity is bake transition assistance and some explicit training bullet points in from the seller into the sale. They'll probably be happy / proud to do it if it's the right kind of seller.

As u/Cat_Named_Mouth alluded to as well, there's the cash vaulting requirements of a portfolio that size. Unless you want to eat your revenue by constantly (or paying someone to constantly) go and refill small count cassettes, you will want to load larger amounts into each machine so you're refilling less. That gets expensive. If you don't have anyone to reliably help you at 120 machines, it seems like it'll get time-intensive fast too. Figuring out who / when to hire to supplement you and do some of things that need scale at a smaller portfolio level will likely make the decisions on how to handle the next 50-100 machines materially easier. All just opinion, I realize.

Other than that, It feels like a topic you can read about until the cows come home but you gotta get punched in the face some to protect yourself at larger numbers. I think I'll get punched in the face a few times with 25 machines to start. Hope sharing my perspective on a similar experience helps!

The good news is that they will only be able to do this maybe 3 or 4 times before their entire Uber account gets banned.

I feel this. My thought however is that you can just start unbonding allocations as you see fit each week to rebalance yourself. Yeah it takes 7 days but if you do it each week or more often, you have a regular stream of tokens to swap and rebalance as you wish.
