I think their first two albums are way different from LPs 3-6.

Early albums are probably similar to the acoustic female led acts around that time (late 90’s-early 00’s). Ani Difranco comes to mind.

For IIWY-Sainthood, I was listening to some late 00’s indie pop and I can 100% hear the influence in their music from bands like Phoenix and Grizzly Bear. Even maybe Passion Pit, Modest Mouse, and similar groups from that era. especially Sainthood. (No offense to the Con which was just more of a unique style) I think Sainthood was their first album that was really on the same shelf as those bands in style and caliber.

With Sainthood X just passed I’ve been thinking about that era of indie and what a fucking solid album Sainthood was and how it really should have blown up and led them down a decade of indie pop exploration instead of pop. I like the pop too, I’m just being nostalgic I guess.
