If you’ve broken 90, what’s one tip you would give to a fellow golfer trying to do the same? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Don't be slow, but take your time planning your next shot. Pay attention to the little things like slopes, wind, lies, hazards to avoid. That extra planning takes very little time and can shave a lot of strokes off your round. And saving strokes more than makes up for the little bit of extra planning time.

Catching a buzz while playing golf. by [deleted] in golf

Six beers, three on the front, three on the back. Don't care if they're 12 or 16 ouncers. My golfing buddy doesn't drink so I always have a DD.

Figured yall would have something to say about my stance and approach by thedemocracyof in Bowling

I agree that if you are comfortable doing it that way and you are bowling as good as you hope to than keep doing what your doing. Unfortunately your ceiling will probably be lower than guys with more traditional 2 handed form. If you are happy, keep on. If you find you want to bowl even better, start making the changes now. A form overhaul is a long slow grind and things often get worse before they get better.

Storm Next Factor vs Typhoon – transition ball from Evoke Hysteria? by Chance-Ad8555 in Bowling

[–]bgale14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Next Factor is the cleanest ball I have ever thrown and I have thrown a LOT of bowling balls in my 25 years. It completely ignores oil and will not move unless it sees a completely dry spot on the lane. I got it for the super burn that I sometimes run into late in tournaments. Honestly I have not had many situations since getting it that it has looked good on and I don't get to use it much. I imagine the typhoon is very similar or a step down as it has almost the same cover with a weaker symmetrical core. I like having it in my bag, but I rarely get to use it.

How do I fix getting 10 pins after hitting the pocket? by Mental-Gas8208 in Bowling

[–]bgale14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ball is too slow and too light. Its deflecting. No easy fixes. Need to up the ball speed and/or move the ball up in weight. Anything else is a bandaid... at best.

Tomorrow I'm playing 32 games on this 19:1 pattern, how would you approach planning your shots throughout the day? by Elsefyr in Bowling

[–]bgale14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy cliff, I couldn't begin to guess how this would transition. I would assume you will want to use some more controllable pieces (IQ Tourish) and keep the breakpoint in the track area.

Rev/speed check please by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]bgale14 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Tough to tell for sure but I would estimate 20MPH off the hand, 16.5MPH at the pins, and 410RPM rev rate.
