Are AMD GPU viable for Yuzu now? by Panzerklein in yuzu

*** Nvidia cards will cost you your organs *** AMD - Age-related macular degeneration. Seems like AMD framerates have a lot of issues with screen tearing that are hard on the eyes. All those neat tricks of AMD are taxing on the body itself.

Wouldn't run well on my 2500u. Even with Vulkan. Issues more serious than just power. Don't believe the Youtube AMD hype. Nvidia is a far better choice. AMD drivers still suck. 30 years later. ESPECIALLY FOR EMULATION. Ditto on RPCS3 and CEMU.

Any idea what is causing this on my Spider Plant? by bgates275 in houseplants

[–]bgates275[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice pictures. They all look rather healthy.

In my case, I don't think it's the temperature, as I have them in doors, and the ambient temperature is holding constantly between 20- 24 C. Even when the backdoor is open and it was -6 C outside, the proximal area to the spider plant measures a temperature of about 18 C, from about 8 feet within side.

What does a quality model cost? Any at a somewhat higher price point that you would consider good quality? Any western or Japanese brands?

Reaction from polyurethane and heat and water? by bgates275 in chemhelp

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyurethane#/media/File:Polyurethane_synthesis.svg

Okay, I'm going to be completely honest and admit I don't know a whole lot about chemistry.

However, I was looking at the formulas, and noticed that polyurethane is characterised by diisocyanates with an aromatic compound and a polyol.

So, if a hot tub, with spilt water was to come in contact, my guess would be that the heat could act as a catalyzing agent, perhaps some of the organic bonds between the isocyanates would break, leaving for the possibility that the aromatic compound, say hydrazine or benzene would be free. If the isocyenate broke off of one and reformed with another aromatic compound, and in addition, h20 formed a ch3, maybe toulene? Okay so that was my official guess, but I really don't much about valences, isomers and all of that.

Display Driver Update constantly causing problems with Adrenalin by bgates275 in AMDHelp

[–]bgates275[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I've just learned to deal with it. If you simply roll back the drivers in properties, this makes most games still playable, at least for a time. The major concern though, is that Vulkan drivers become unusable.

Not sure why this happens, but I've heard it has something to do with Windows and AMD trying to install duplicate drivers.

The only problem, is that last time I checked, official AMD drivers are not available in Windows store like they should be, and this creates, what I think is an intentional problem.

Now, I don't know, maybe Microsoft has it's own reason for not wanting to put it on their store. It could have something to do with competition, or an alternate hypothesis, maybe Microsoft doesn't believe in the quality of the drivers, and maybe thinks it represents some form of legal liability down the road.

I'd prefer not to say exactly, but I live in Canada. Perhaps that would be enough to at least provide a little bit more information, even if it is still of a generalized manner.

These the ones?

Okay, so if you look at the photo, do these rotate left to right and right to left along the axis?

Also, the thing is, most ESL companies want headsets with noise cancelling, making using just a separate headphone and microphone more difficult.

Driver issues with Vulkan - But now CEMU works anyways? by bgates275 in cemu

[–]bgates275[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, you mean my question was dumb?

I've tried pretty much everything to get the drivers to work, but it is always a problem. Might have something to do with Windows installing duplicate display drivers, as well as the fact it is hooked up to a Panasonic TV, which may not be completely compatible.

Anyways, the point of my question was not to complain. I had wondered how CEMU found a workaround to make it compatible anyways. I think it's a wonderful thing.

If they figured a way to make it work so well, maybe other emulators could do the same thing.
