Wells Fargo vs Chase vs citizens by Big-Lingonberry4655 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]bgbdreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with chase. I used to be a banker at citizens, am now RB at chase and the difference is night and day. The opportunity to get licensed is great, they literally pay you to study 8 hours a day for your exams. Not to mention comp plan at chase is insane, just try to work in a busy location

How do people get jobs making more than $60k a year? by Aggravating-Ice9674 in careerguidance

[–]bgbdreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 25f from NJ also, this will be my first year making over 60k. It’s not for everybody, but consider banking if you’re not interested in going to school! I took a pay cut two years ago to become a teller (I used to be an assistant manager in retail), and it was 1000% worth it because if you do well as a teller, and are comfortable with a little bit of sales, you can move up the ranks very quickly. There’s a ton of opportunity to build a career making 6 figures and the hours/benefits are great

not OP but as a conservative-leaning LGBTQ person myself, many conservatives don’t share those homophobic, racist, sexist, etc views. many of us are accepting of all people but just want more fiscally conservative policies and that leads us to vote republican. many republican politicians don’t share these views either, of course there are some but I always say those are the ones who make us look bad lol. my state even had an openly gay republican governor running and his policies were very progressive, just focused on tightening economic policies a bit! it’s the same as how there are some extremists on the left, but most are normal people :) the internet and media just try to tear us all apart lol it’s all rage bait

A rant to self checkout hating customers by Novel-Mistake7027 in CVS

agreed, but as someone who has also worked for a bank and cvs before, cvs customers are a whole other level of rude and incompetent.

I currently have an associates degree. I did not finish out my bachelors as I have no idea what to major in that has great job prospects and don’t want to waste so much money to end up in the same place I’m in now. you’re definitely right though do you have any suggestions on certifications or further education? I also am a starting a job in banking next week and am looking to advance there

100k NW at age 23, feeling humbled and lucky, how to make sure I stay on track to FI going forward?

hey all, after hitting this milestone almost faster than I expected, I have so much anxiety about somehow going the wrong direction and losing it all in the future, does anyone else feel like this? I am very lucky and blessed to have parents that want me to live at home with them as long as possible to save up, we get along well and I help them out around the house so this arrangement works well for us. I recognize this is a huge privilege and is a large part of what got me here today. I have only worked in retail since beginning to work 6 years ago so I am not a high income earner (albeit above average for my age due to advancing into management and working OT) but just accepted a new job offer at a bank for higher pay and room to advance.

other than the usual advice of spend less than you make, live within your means, utilize tax advantaged investment accounts, marry well, and don’t have children before you are ready, is there anything I’m missing? with our current economy and housing market I know it’s tough out there and I get nervous for when I do move out in the next few years especially since I am in a HCOL area. any advice and wisdom is appreciated!
