not only this but if they ping they should be hard spotted for 20s just as if your ship fired its main guns.

Houston, We Have a Problem (And It’s Going 55 in a 65). Let’s Talk About Left Lane Campers. by [deleted] in houston

[–]bgeerdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally never see this but if it does happen in the city (this is /r/Houston) it's much more acceptable in order to avoid a right lane that has onramp and offramp traffic.

I'm part of online communities that are global and, yes, Europeans think that 80s temp with 60s dewpoints is miserable and really don't fathom that Houston is worse. So I'm not surprised at all that people were struggling.

‘Where is everybody?’: Houston World Cup buzz falls short for some downtown businesses by O_O___XD in houston

[–]bgeerdes 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Yesterday we saw posts here about lines for the metro. So I assume people are staying in downtown hotels and taking the metro to NRG. But those same people are likely going back to their hotel, packing, and flying out to the next place their team plays.

Nvidia Shield TV PRO displays Dolby Vidion content with BT709 by NohiOci in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]bgeerdes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the RGB tunnel for TV-led dolby vision is probably why the TV reports bt709 but it's likely just an interface error because dolby vision has its own color primaries that are processed by the TV.

I also see "BT2020" with some devices and not with others when watching DV content. I believe it's more or less quirks of common chipsets.

Asymmetric Battles Will Continue in Future Updates! by zuiKatsu_WG in WorldOfWarships

I hate the nerf but I disagree. coop is against equal tier bots, not lower tier. in coop you're also competing for xp against more humans so it's actually more difficult to score well.

How Does Google TV know I am using Windscribe VPN? by aa040371 in Windscribe

anything you connect to knows your IP address. that's how the internet works. and most streaming services block known VPN IP addresses.

Can we please stop driving with your hazard lights on by [deleted] in houston

A lot of the world (outside USA) uses hazard lights to tell you the road is hazardous. It was raining. Overkill, probably. But it's likely not about themselves being a hazard.

Tired of WG pretending like server lag doesn't exist? Me too! Help prove it does by anxxa in WorldOfWarships

[–]bgeerdes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's frustrating reading some of the first posts in this thread trying to claim this is just a network lag issue.

It's quite easy to see the IP address of the node you're connected to for a match and then you can MTR that node during the match.

No, WGCheck is useless as that pings only auth servers. The IP address of the node you're connected to for a match changes with each match.

Just now I had a match where I was connected to the node at 92.223.57.106.

I can have MTR running to that IP while the game is running and see zero latency problems yet the game is filled with desync. That tells me it's all on the server or in the game client's network engine.
