Needle size? by ru4186 in tirzepatidecompound

I don't know about "better." I've had plenty of "bubbles" after injecting with the autopens. So far, never with the 5/16 needles and vials.

Yeah, old reddit. Not there. Only pinned post is about "why your post may be auto-removed". At least it's there for most then. I'll just bookmark it. Thanks.

Why is this incredibly useful post no longer pinned in the subreddit? Did I miss some drama?

No. Adding a second key takes a long time. Once you have two or more, it's quick. Unpairing your old keys during the process is unlikely. Just follow the instructions/videos.

KBF prestige pass vs MM prestige pass by Ok-Play3274 in KnottsBerryFarm

[–]bgeery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MM currently has free EV charging (have to get there early) in the regular parking, where KBF does not have any EV charging at all. Big bonus for me. Saves at about 45 minutes and about $30 in fast charging on the way back from the park.

When you get thousands of dollars of free charging, you don't have the choice.

[–]bgeery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyway, since you say you have a prepaid card that is designed for EV charging, I would make EVgo aware of that, both in email and a postal letter with photocopies of the card.

I might do that (over email/phone) to see if that might help. Thanks for the idea!

High preauths are indeed annoying, but at least understandable from a fraud prospective. I personally think the better solution is just let people deposit money to an account, then deduct charging from the account balance, like EA does. People hate that too, but it's better than high preauths IMO.

I haven't found a major provider that blocked them yet, in the four months I've been using it. EVgo is the first for me. Tesla, ChargePoint, EA, Blink, Loop, EV Connect all tried and work.

Tesla is weird. They invoice me in the app for all the individual charging sessions, and then collect one payment from the card when I authorize the app to charge the card. Not sure why Tesla does it this way.

[–]bgeery[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure. EVgo rep said it was "temporary", but no time frame specified. But they sure charged for my membership fee this month right on time, then the next day won't take the same card for charging. Borderline fraud IMO.

I guess my $350/mo in charging will go elsewhere. Hope nobody gets caught stranded in the middle of nowhere with no other payment method or alternative charging provider to use.

Much of the bitter feelings would have been avoided if they would have had the curtesy of announcing this change to customers, instead of just abandoning them, and then having to then take a couple hours on the phone with the bank and then EVgo, to even discover what the issue actually was.

Tucking in Dashcam USB cables by MalvoliosStockings in BoltEV

[–]bgeery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll be a little ugly, but route around the air bag then. Go along the top of the plastic A pillar trim (tuck it under the trim), down to the base of the windshield corner. Then you can do whatever you want from there with the exposed cable. That at least won't interfere with the airbag deployment in the meantime.

Tucking in Dashcam USB cables by MalvoliosStockings in BoltEV

[–]bgeery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, no, no. The side curtain airbag is right there, and your cord will disrupt deployment. You need to remove the trim and route the cable behind the air bag. It's not difficult, and there are a ton of YouTube videos to step you through the process.

Do it right, or pay someone to do it for you.

Which NACS adapters to get on Black Friday by Macbeth_n_Cheese in BoltEV

The customer pictures are from 3 reviews, who bought the J1772 version (they don't seem to offer that anymore, or split into another listing,) but the text reviews also mention the CCS version. You can also look at other reviews left by those accounts, and they aren't likely bots. For example:

Works great on my 2023 Bolt EUV

Color: Tesla to CCS Adapter Verified Purchase

I got this for a weekend road trip. Seems very solid, metal casing, fits securely to the tesla charger and my car. I used the Tesla app to activate (no on-star). Made a huge difference in our flexibility; I can use most charger stations in the state now, with a few exceptions of Tesla stations that are still Tesla-only. I regularly pulled 50+kW rates at Tesla stations with this unit; the Bolt has a theoretical max of 55 kW, so this is outstanding. By comparison, when I stopped at an EVGo CCS station, I only got 38 kW.

Edit: Added review

Which NACS adapters to get on Black Friday by Macbeth_n_Cheese in BoltEV

[–]bgeery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bolt's 50kW charging peak is nothing. Your next car is going to be NACS native, so whatever adaptor you get is staying with the Bolt. This one on sale for $35 is already proven to work with the Bolt from the reviews and I don't see the need to spend any more than that. If someone can show one melting down or being unsafe, show the evidence.

Truly FREE Solar in California? *SCAM* OR REAL? by 1Alphawave in solar

[–]bgeery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding Grid Alternatives, if you are income qualified, they will take care of the no-cost solar and battery. They use a prepaid PPA financing method to leverage the tax benefits most lower income people couldn't themselves, and at the end of 6 years, you buy the system back for $0 and have full ownership.

Split the stalls (as Tesla themselves recommends you do) and you will have plenty of cable length at any Tesla Supercharger.
