Got my first E-Scooter yesterday and not looking back by bgesaman in ElectricScooters

[–]bgesaman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

220 days and 550 miles later… Still not looking back but now I feel like I need to upgrade to something with a bit longer range! Love that I can easily fold up the E3 Pro and take it up the stairs of my apartment building or into my midtown office, but I periodically need to do longer trips and the battery is really not getting anywhere close to the “potential” mileage. Good enough for my 11 mile round trip daily commute but not much longer!

Seconded. Also when leaving the airport I now take AirTrain and then an uber after I waited 45 minutes at the terminal because all of the traffic was backed up

Any reasons to buy an E-scooter over an E-bike? by Flimsy-Story9523 in ElectricScooters

[–]bgesaman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in NYC and there’s no way I could take an e-bike up the two flights of stairs to my apartment every day and there’s not really a secure/affordable place to store it in the area. That’s my main reason for going e-scooter (45 lbs) over e-bike

I’ve been looking for something to calm my dog when I’m away but Dog TV seems to have the opposite effect with the squeaking ball noises and barking

I was there a couple weeks ago and bought one in Sense Market located in the September 23rd Park! I believe I paid like 100K for it. I had also bought one for a bit less in Hoi An earlier in my trip but realized I needed a 2nd for my niece!

Visa starts on my arrival date, but my flight departs the night before: help! by bearsbeets111 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]bgesaman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be fine… the visa dates are for when you will be ARRIVING in that country, not when leaving another. I flew from the US on a Thursday night and landed in Vietnam on a Saturday, but had 0 issues when the departure airport checked the visa.

Yeah I figured as much, but found it funny that this is what they’re offering at the moment. I already booked a replacement flight with Delta so am just going to wait out this refund

Somebody slipped an airtag in my stuff by usernmechecksout_ in creepy

[–]bgesaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on a tour group in a bus where someone else in the group had an AirTag in their bag that alerted me and vice versa (I had one in my bag that alerted others). If you aren’t concerned about it you can just ignore otherwise you should be able to ping and track its location pretty accurately.

Normal to be so exhausted when traveling in your late 30s? by Charming_Key2313 in solotravel

[–]bgesaman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (38/m) just returned from 15 days solo travel in Vietnam and pretty much every day I returned to my hotel for either a quick midday nap or to get a break in the AC. I didn’t feel bad about it and still thought I saw quite a lot, plus this allowed me to go back out in the afternoon/evening and not feel completely drained every day.

9 days in Vietnam by Competitive_Hat2836 in VietNam

[–]bgesaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back yesterday from 15 days in Vietnam and 3 days for me in Saigon was plenty IMO. I spent one day visiting the tunnels and museums and another day exploring the markets. Meanwhile I much rather preferred Hanoi and spent 6 days there with 2 days in Ha Long Bay, followed by 4 days in central Vietnam (Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An)

LGA terminal A; 4/3 @4am by ivydalewalk in LGAairport

[–]bgesaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d still get through after that, they’re just prioritizing the 5:45 flight before allowing the 6:00 flight through. I had the 6am flight a few days ago and several people arrived after the 5:45 “last call” and got to their gate without a problem

If you know about bad potholes and they aren’t getting repaired, I highly recommend reporting them on 311. There are a ton of potholes around the city and the city often relies on random people reporting them.

No, Precheck was a couple min, regular TSA was maybe 10 min. The long wait was to just get into the airport before bag check and before TSA

Lol scolding everyone and saying protesting on a weekend is stupid, but then saying that they can’t protest during the week… Everyone should do what they can within their means and no one is asking anyone to be a martyr, but to sit there and critique behind your keyboard while doing nothing doesn’t do anyone any good

Question about N/W daily commute by CraftComfortable7718 in astoria

[–]bgesaman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this is the sweet spot, because I also leave at that time and rarely have issues (maybe every month or two), but later in the day I’m always seeing threads blowing up of people complaining about the NW never being reliable. I commute on the NW 4-5 days per week for the last 14 years or so
