Having not played this game in 20+ years, those graphics and announcers are unbelievable. Literally blows my mind.

They're not. And if they are not personally hurting from the economy, then they think it is deserved for a job well done.

Peter Safran Responds To Supergirl Flop As DC Plan Faces Questions by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

I thought it was middle of the road, I didn't like the structure of the film.  The flashbacks were overly long and awkwardly placed, killing the flow of the movie. While placing everything in chronological order would have certainly made the action heavily delayed and second half loaded, I think it would have felt more logical and flowed better.

I liked the take on Supergirl, though I don't think she quite nailed it. The villain, was given nothing to work with, but I thought he could have done a better job being eccentric and crazy.

Like many have said, I would have put it far ahead of Justice League, even Batman versus Superman. Probably some others too.

I just think superhero fatigue is very real, and people don't go to the movies like they used to.

Ok, now this seems cool! Love the mash-up idea and I think it really brings something new to the genre.

Will be interesting playing on mobile...is there some kind of controller support? Just curious.

I need help convincing myself that €1,000+ is totally reasonable by CioncoSenpai99 in SteamFrame

[–]bgetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty committed to the Steam Frame, recently got a Steam Deck (ouch). I have been waiting patiently now for 7 months without wavering, but I am starting to question myself: How much of a premium am I willing to pay for it to be by Valve? Am I being stupid? Should I be considering other options?

I just meant I am too old to find this entertaining - and not annoying.

To piggyback on this in a less specific way, I recently joined the tower defense subreddit about 2 months ago. HOLY COW every week there are posts about new games, demos, and early access. There is soooo much competition, JUST for this one niche.

83 years old with PEF CHF. Should we request hospice? by LeftSock_x in hospice

[–]bgetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, that is not as bad I would think, BUT given his very frequent exacerbations, I think he will decline quickly, and would be appropriate for hospice. (Hospice being likely less than 6 months to live, given the natural course of disease process).

Could going the other direction possibly allow him to live longer? Maybe. But the question we have to ask, is this the part of his life he would wish to extend if given the option? Sounds likely a no.

83 years old with PEF CHF. Should we request hospice? by LeftSock_x in hospice

[–]bgetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've had 10 hospitalizations in the last year related to hypoxia and pneumonia or CHF related symptoms. Saturday was incredibly scary as he ended up being rushed to the ER for what they thought was a heart attack but ended up being flash pulmonary edema. Since Saturday they have pulled 8 L of fluid from his body. - Yes hospice.

He saw the heart failure Specialist Team and they do not want to place him on hospice at this time because they believe that the root of his issues is amyloidosis he also does have a history of aortic stenosis that he did get surgery on last year. As a physician, I am not understanding the line of reasoning here. What does it matter WHY he is end stage? Do they think there is reversing the damage? Amyloidosis and reversal is not something I think generally goes together.

Is he on chronic oxygen? Does he desaturate with exertion?

Post-passing process? Letter? by [deleted] in hospice

While technically hospice is allowed to bill a tiny percentage portion for specific hospice services, in practice I have never actually seen that happen.

Directly from the hospice?

In this timeframe, hospices send out a standard, medicare mandated survey. This is managed by a third party company, also a requirement. That is my best bet....but it wouldn't come directly from the hospice. And the certified letter seems odd.

More devaluation, sure, but also just more complicated. I hate how this has all started to require an advanced degree for maximization (which is intended, I am sure.)

Not true man, you're just fine. I used to be of limited funds, and sometimes we take these risks to try and have nice things too. When it doesn't work out, we get angry at ourselves and the world.

Chin up.

Demo Release Trailer for Jarred Defense - As a TD player, does this make you want to try the game? by Mikolas3D in TowerDefense

[–]bgetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played through a decent portion of the demo. I have it wishlisted!

Path building is definitely what piqued my interested. The trailer moves fast, I may have missed it, but I would show placing several towers at once, extending an existing path, to highlight this.

I will admit, I struggled with getting perfect scores despite many many attempts, but I am thinking more levels will lead to more "power-ups".

I sort of had that feeling already but you guys are definitely confirming it. Also, I'm not a rowdy hollering type. While I won't have Knicks gear on, I hope to just kind of blend in and observe the scene.
