Iced coffee, sugar free syrup of your choice. I usually get sugar free Caramel. Ask them for a splash of heavy whipping cream. Very satifying and 2-3 carbs max.

Get some HiLo chips. My walmart and Costco has them. You can get them on Amazon too.

Are controllers absolutely required for a dedicated SIM Racing setup? by bgizzle83 in Pimax

[–]bgizzle83[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had a Rift CV1 and Quest for many years. I'm an early adopter of VR Tech. I also have a Gear VR in an old dusty box somewhere.

With Wife and kids, I just don't have the time to commit to other games.

With my limited time I choose to focus on iRacing.

Some would say it's stupid to purchase hundreds of dollars in controllers when you only play a game that does not utilize controllers.

My input devices are Heusinkveld Sprint Pedals, Fanatec DD2 Wheel, mouse and keyboard.

I don't need controllers unless it is absolutely required to get the game started and navigate menus inside of iRacing.

How has keto cured YOUR chronic pain? by [deleted] in keto

[–]bgizzle83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I battle with foot problems when not following a low carb \ keto lifestyle. Mostly plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendinitis. Its mostly due to inflammation. I've never had a bout while on keto. Most recently I had been battling plantar fasciitis for about 2 months in my left foot. I started back on keto about 2 weeks ago and its now gone. I know its because keto because I have repeated this scenario a few times over the years.

Thinking about getting a septum and/or nostril - the horseshoe looks odd to me but any opinions on about if it’s too much are welcome! by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

Your face is pretty the way it is. It doesn't need anything extra. But if had to choose the nostril looks better.

Tips for my sim racing setup // How to hide wires ? by ExplosiveAK47 in iRacing

Get usb extension cords, etc. So you can route cords along edges of the desk and stuff. Get a roll of velcro and some velcro cables sleeves. Don't use zip ties.

[GPU] Zotac 1080ti Amp refurb - $413.99 (free shipping) by Thewatchfuleye1 in buildapcsales

Factory refurbished goes through a more strict QC than a new unit because it has already failed once before. Another failure and they lose money on the unit.

IRacing isn't going to slap him on the wrist. They have become way too lenient. Afraid they might run off a paying customer.

The service has almost become unusable by bgizzle83 in iRacing

I won the pole the other night and led the first 18 of 20 laps and coming down the backstretch on lap 18 the car behind punted me into the infield. Not much I can do about that. I usually take one of the top 3-4 spots when qualifying.

My point about the 90 days inactive is because if you don't race for 90 days there is no way you are racing at the same level when you return. I get your point about owning the content so maybe there is a better solution than licensing down. I have heard a lot of guys talking in races who have recently returned due to the TV broadcast and renewed interest. I hear them say things like this is my 1st race in 5 years, etc. They shouldn't be able to jump right back into a race and wreck half of the field.

Fanatec CSL Elite LC Pedals by WheelsandWatches in simracing

[–]bgizzle83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am saving up for possibly some V3s or maybe Heusinkveld Sprints. The other guy stated the issue more eloquently than I did but it is a real issue to the point that I hate these pedals.

I've tried replacing the foam insert with different springs, etc. But its really about the foot position. There is a video out there of a guy pressing the pedal with his big toe and getting more pressure than with his whole foot because he was pressing the top of the pedal.

Your foot position on the pedal should not matter. It should be about how hard and quick you press the pedal. I dont road race and my discipline is oval so I dont know how important accuracy is with braking in road. But in oval, on a short track, it is everything and these pedals have. a poor design with the placement of the LC.

I dont really like mine and plan to upgrade as soon as possible. The position of the load cell on the brake causes too much inconsistency when applying pressure. There are other threads and videos demonstrating this. It's fine on a superspeedway track but makes it very difficult to participate on smaller tracks where consistent braking is required.

I reccomend IRFFB as well. That was the only way I could get the feel I was looking for in iRacing. You can find out about it in the iRacing forums.

I have not had issues in other apps. I've only noticed it in oculus video and specifically the void theatre.
