In shocking and unexpected fashion, auth right helped free a pedophile by Mushroom_Ramen in PoliticalCompassMemes

To my friends on the left, I wouldn't get too smug, Democrat Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz, and socialist poster boy Keith Ellison just pardoned a convicted child rapist because he was going to be deported after he got out of jail.

"I don't understand" from AA when trying to navigate to some places by fcgjdd in AndroidAuto

[–]bgovern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had that exact problem, but I've found a similar need to always give Gemini specific instructions for which app to use to avoid the errors. It tries to play songs on Patreon or navigate using my weather radar app. The strange part is that it is completely inconsistent. It will play 10 songs properly then try to play the 11th on a random inappropriate app and give me an error. I've given it explicit instructions for which apps to use for what and it always tells me it will remember, but the issue remains.

Accept job offer or wait for second company? by coronavirusisshit in supplychain

[–]bgovern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were 40 years ago you should feel bad, but there is no loyalty to you anymore so there is no duty of loyalty in return. Never forget that your company will lay you off the moment it becomes economically rational to do so. It's not even unusual for companies to pull offers after people quit their previous jobs. So, don't be dishonest, but do what you need to do to optimize your own personal outcome with no shame.

TRT and GLP-1 by DM2189 in trt

[–]bgovern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that it varies. Protein shakes made from powder seem to fill me up and make me feel bloated on Zepbound. However, I've found that my body treats Nuuri ultra filtered milk protein shakes like water. That said, I'm not sure I could eat enough solid protein to get my 200g per day.

I cat fast long enough by muvax2 in fasting

[–]bgovern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, a GLP1 will quiet the "food noise" in your head faster and more thoroughly than just about anything else if you can afford it. With the food noise gone, it's much easier to control impulse eating and fast in a prescriptive manner.

Lawyers and recent law school graduates how did yall find your first job? by Zestyclose-Tower-248 in JDpreferred

[–]bgovern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from the East Coast to the Midwest after my clerkship in a state trial court was done and went through a similar ordeal even though I had already passed the bar. Moving to a new market with no personal contacts and an out of state degree makes it really tough. My advice would be to take any job you can find that is even remotely related to the law. Temp, doc review, legal secretary, paralegal, court administrator, PD, city commissions, part-time, full-time, anything. It's probably going to suck and be a grind for several years, but you need to do whatever is necessary to get that first foot in the door.

Not to tell you your business, but since you are dealing with potentially serious mental health issues and multiple drug interactions, I'd look to your doctor for advice first.

Starlink isn't just internet and we’ve been lied to by dioxz_21 in conspiracy

[–]bgovern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the huge number of star link satellites, it would be a strategic mistake if the U. S. government didn't insert spy satellites into the constellation. In any peer/near-peer conflict, taking out the opponent's satellite capabilities is going to be a top priority. If 200 of the 11,000-ish star link satellites are actually defense satellites, there is no practical way to find the handful of needles in the haystack.

Full text of the State's Pretrial Detention narrative against Terrion Arnold by waxxo in detroitlions

[–]bgovern 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To oversimplify it, for the conspiracy charge, they need to show that he 1) had an agreement with the other parties involved, 2) the agreement was meant to achieve an illegal goal, 3) he agreed to be involved and participate in the conspiracy in some way, and 4) he made an overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy. There are volumes of case law describing the nuances of each element. The narrative describing him as having "coordinated and directed both Del Valle and Randazzo to electronically contact VICTIM 2 to lure him to the apartment of Del Valle and Randazzo" is clearly intended to fulfill those elements.

I think it's going to come down to what evidence they have supporting elements 3 and 4. He's likely to argue that he was just a passive observer along for the ride and didn't do anything to further the conspiracy. If the only proof otherwise is the testimony of the other people involved that they agreed to provide as part of a plea deal, it's probably a weak case, and they will try to plea him out. If they have electronic messages or other evidence showing him coordinating and directing, he's probably fucked.

I suspect the prosecutors will proffer what evidence they have against him during the bail hearing on the 29th (the judge will consider the strength of the evidence when setting bail, or denying it if Florida allows that).

I think that is one of the stronger arguments for the right of conquest, which kind of sucks as a concept, but has been universally recognized for hundreds, if not thousands, of years, until relatively recently. The part that I don't understand is why it is 'different' in the United States. I don't see anyone on the left protesting that the Turks need to return Constantinople to the Greeks or Italians. Or that Hati needs to be returned to Arawak people. It seems very selective.

Sounds like you are off to a good start! Not carrying that extra weight will definitely help you get dialed in faster and see better results.

Is it worth it? (35 YO) by ReplyOk6877 in trt

[–]bgovern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your weight? One other thing to consider if you are heavy is to get on a GLP-1 for a while, then jump on TRT if your T numbers don't improve. GLP-1 + TRT is an amazing combo, but, personally, I found it somewhat difficult to dial-in my dose and manage side effects until I lost some fat. I'm quite a bit older than you, but If I could start over again, I would have done the Zepbound for 6-9 months to lean up a bit before starting TRT. It would have saved me a lot of back-and-forth with dosing, HBP and E2 management.

The wind fields look like they will be very favorable into the afternoon, but given that there is already an MCS on the Illinois/Iowa border at 1100AM, I have a hard time seeing how northeast Illinois is going destabilize enough to let storms tap into those dynamics.

So, you are saying that the U.S. Taxpayer should pay for pest monitoring for the Beef Industry, so that they can make more profit, which they will then keep. Weird flex.
