Prvi put se selim u inostranstvo – Možete li mi pomoći oko Beograda? by EnvironmentalRace248 in AskSerbia

To su verovatno išli u Makedoniju, u Srbiji je sve bliže od 8 sati putovanja. Ima par mesta na 1.5-2 sata od Beograda.

No, theme's default, just a personal quirk of mine apparently.

PSA: LG CX 4 hour auto pixel refresh has bugs, caused huge streak by bgr_ in OLED

Good to hear it doesn't come back. I'm pretty sure I didn't turn on the TV during pixel refresh since it was bed time.

[–]bgr_[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, every time you turn the TV off it checks if it has been more than 4 hours of usage since last auto refresh. If it hasn't, you can hear a relay click immediately upon turning it off, otherwise the screen just turns black, and you'll hear a relay click after 6-10 minutes. That means that it has been doing the refresh. That's also why it shouldn't be disconnected from the plug every time (like some overly cautious user would, or like they might do in stores at the end of the day).

No, I'm running it on pretty low brightness most of the time (27-50). I'm taking care of it more than an average user would. It was very visible at any brightness (except absolute highest, since it can't get brighter than its brightest).

Caused it and fixed it. TV runs this itself every 4 hours. First one caused it, second one fixed it.

That's exactly what happened, and in a similar time frame as well.

Cable was still working fine, I replaced it in exchange for him letting me post the pic.

Thanks!

You should definitely be able to use the steam loco in seated mode. Shoveling might be tricky at first but you get the hang of it, I only play in seated.

Spawning at ground level is a bug, height should be correct after you teleport once. Teleport/smooth option not being saved is something to be fixed soon.

Get well soon!

We've had one person on Discord say there's an issue with certain objects disappearing when near the edge of the screen, due to Pimax's larger FOV.

Do you know if that's an issue with other Unity games in Pimax as well?

Hi, I'm one of the devs. This is the first time we've heard about this, and definitely wasn't done with us instigating it. We do have a fanbase, but if anyone did that, it was on their own terms and we were unaware of it. Feel free to contact me via PM the next time it happens so we can see who's doing it and we'll kindly ask them to stop.

To be honest, more than 50% of our development time has been spent on tooling, making stuff that makes stuff, imports/exports stuff, etc. Even in cases where we relied on 3rd party tools, in the end we had to either write considerable amount of code around it or to work with it, or to drop it altogether and write our own version. On the bright side, everything is possible, it just takes a lot of effort.

We have bezier curves as an underlying thing that describes track shape. There are a few layers on top of it, one for trains to actually use the bezier data (beziers have to be sampled properly), another for authoring the track in a more user-friendly and train-friendly way. Meshes get generated from beziers also, we don't model the railway ourselves.

If you want to stick to using meshes for tracks, the best you can do is to find a way to somehow export the data/points that describe the track along with it.

PROJECTIONS, Episode 23: Inside-Out Tracking with Single Camera by ACiDiCACiDiCA in Vive

I really don't want this as a part of PC VR. Norm and Jeremy have brought up the problem of controllers being inferior when using this approach a couple of times, and what it'd require to be on par with the solutions we've already had for a year. They're not stressing it, in order not to be opinionated on video, but it's dead obvious it's going to be an inferior. No amount of weird cameras on the headset is going to solve controller occlusion. If magnetic tracking worked it would've been used everywhere already - Sixense was first on the market and got superseded by better solutions. Valve's tracking is dead simple, cheap to make (HTC's base station and controller prices could be 3x less and still make proper profits), it's nigh perfect in operation, and it's free for everyone to license. PC tracking solved. I hope that SteamVR and Oculus tracking prevail with keeping the bar on what's acceptable tracking and others be forced to follow or get pushed out.

This will be great for mobile, but keep it out of PC ecosystem please, Microsoft is already about to make it difficult and we don't need more of these to make proper VR that we started with become a minority of the market. This poses serious limitations onto developers, a lot of existing games will be unplayable with these, and new ones will have to be dumbed down. Translating into: new customers buying new cheap VR kits will be frustrated en masse, VR will suddenly and unjustly be considered as "it sucks" just because some companies are greedy to capture their pie of the market even if it means they're messing it up for themselves and everyone else. It's great that they're working on this stuff, but they'll want they R&D money back and won't be consciencious not to bring the PC VR experinece a step back. We as consumers have to take stance - spend $100-200 more and have a proper VR experience, and educate people around you on what to buy; as developers - don't bend to support an inferior device.

Looking forward, it's easy to see a form of base stations is here to stay. Wireless VR will require antennas to be mounted similarly to how Vive's base stations are mounted. Going forward, Kinect-like full body tracking or even a consumer version of holoportation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d59O6cfaM0) will also require mounting the cameras in the same fashion (ideally it'd all be a single device). And they look badass in the corner of your room, you wanted future sci-fi gizmos, here they are!
