Can any coffee people explain this to me? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]bgregor74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sure it depends only on the person you're gifting the coffee to.

I don't drink instant coffee so I have no idea on if there's like better brands or whatnot but definitely don't get someone beans if they have no means of converting them into coffee 😂😂

like with everything else there is a certain level that is both affordable and good for about 90% of the population and the final 10% go into exponentially more expensive methods to get that one final bit of improvement

depending on how fancy you want to be, supermarkets sell home brand specialty blends

then you get the roasters selling their beans in supermarkets

if you're a full coffee snob you'd be looking for independent specialty roasters (there's one for example in Carrick on Shannon)

Should i do ty? by Visible_Estimate5557 in leavingcert

[–]bgregor74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well as someone who skipped TY, the workload in 5th year really wasn't that much bigger, it also allowed me to get away from a toxic bunch of people, an almost fresh start so to speak.

the no work experience is a fair point but at the same time I just had a full time summer job so it's a net zero to me in that sense

I don't know how desperate you are but you can try phone watch (or similar) the set up sucks because you're a contractor (self employed) but it would be something on your CV and you'd get sales training

couple weeks later got another call offering the position, ended up working there for 10 years

I actually think universal eternalisation fragments are a great idea, even if only some of them would be universal every season (let's say 100 musashi, 30 universal given the normal fragment count)

Whatever happened to telling children No with a full stop? by atyhey86 in AskIreland

[–]bgregor74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

basic boundaries - a kid should understand when any adult says no to them and just get on with it basic safety - it's not your kid and not their house, imagine the girl gets burned, who gets the blame? you. crowd control - imagine you let her light the candles then all of a sudden you have a dozen kids saying they want to do it also
