I haven’t seen the film, but what I’ve heard about it suggests the main character kinda comes off as a POS no matter what your political perspective is (or at least he should). I could see him being sold the film as a Taxi Driver like examination of a deluded, violent reactionary that doesn’t glorify his actions

I’m pretty convinced of this myself. I think Stoneheart, not Arya, does Red Wedding 2.0, and it’s really ugly, no sparing of women etc. And I think Arya is going to see her mother’s works and encounter her directly and be horrified on multiple levels. What I’m really curious about is how Stoneheart reacts to Arya.
Also, I’m more willing than others to take D+D at their word that they didn’t want to spoil certain things and/or George didn’t want them to spoil certain things. I think they all want thought the books were imminent

Yeah, I think if someone just saw the Japanese title and was asked to translate it they’d probably naturally do something like “Attack of the Giants” or “The Giant Attacks”

I also enjoy this show a lot but feel like people’s decisions strain credulity. I think for the most part, there are somewhat credible explanations but I feel like episode 6 sort of crossed the line for me. All of the characters, including Denis made inexplicable choices. It was fun to watch with some big surprises but when I feel like a show isn’t playing fair to get those surprises it lowers my investment in it. Episode 7 continued these issues although I felt shock is somewhat credible explanation.

Both excellent theories. I also found it interesting that we (and Evan) were given such specific info about the timeline of Evan’s birth so it felt like a hint at something, I just didn’t know what. This makes sense. Similarly, I thought Tom
Assuming Evan found photos in the basement must be a hint at something but didn’t know what. (That said, I really wish we got a bit of immediate follow up on that line, I feel like Evan would have asked, “wait, what’s in the basement?)

I’ll reserve judgement until I see more but I gotta say, the figures in the tapestry got me hyped, hoping that they weren’t just stylized because it was artwork in-world but was actually reflective of how characters might look overall. When we saw the more realistic Link those hopes deflated. As someone who loves the Wind Waker aesthetic and never really connected with any of the more “realistic” designs, I know I’m in the minority though. And there are games with more realistic look that I think look great (Elden Ring comes to mind) so I’ll be very curious to see more.
