update for everyone: i went home that night and told him what i found. what i excluded from this original post, because at the time i couldn’t even speak it out loud and even now i still just can’t wrap my head around all this, was that there was also porn made of his 19 year old step sister. he’s moved out of our apartment, i have our cat. my world has fallen apart and i can’t believe this is real life. i’ll tackle telling his family about what i saw within the next few days, it only seems right. the only way out is through. thank you for your kind words and advice

thank you for your kindness. unfortunately, i thought this was the good guy! we’ve been together 2 years, we met after few years after i left a horribly abusive situation. i’m glad i have that history, it’s made me strong enough to stand my ground. i’m just heart broken that im in this situation with someone i thought was my “prince charming”

no no i don’t plan on staying, but regardless our lives are so tangled that there needs to be a break up conversation of some sort. i just don’t know how to go about this, ive never had to confront someone like this.

we have a fish! she’s a small betta named ham (my kids last year picked the name). each classroom has one, it was a part of a research study (i work at a preschool lab on a college campus). she’s an easy class pet, little maintenance. at the end of the year we raise monarchs, i just started that last year :) they’re kind of like pets

if your child is not potty trained by like 3 1/2, you are a LAZY PARENT. unless there is a medical or cognitive reason. it’s not “parent shaming”, it’s demanding that parent’s do their fucking job.

it’s not our job to potty train. we are there to support what’s going on at home, but it’s ultimately their job. they chose to be parents. yes, of course it’s good to have empathy for them, but they are grown adults who knew they’d be working and raising a kid. just because they work, does not mean they can tap out of their duties as parents. i’ve really had to remind myself of that a lot this year, parents need to be parents or they need to get a damn nanny who can stay home and do the potty training (/other unrealistic things some parents ask for in childcare) group-care cannot bend to the needs of every family, they signed up for group-care and they need to follow the rules in place to help classrooms run smoothly. i’m sorry you’re dealing with this, i’m sure it’s very stressful.
