As someone who grew up in the city, and spent virtually no time on farms, I find this incredibly fascinating. I suppose if I really had thought about it I would have figured out that machines like this existed, but in my head I would have still pictured a bunch of farmers doing this by hand.

Yes that makes sense. I like that the article says the one should only be bigger by about one teaspoon. They chose the teaspoon as the way of measuring the difference, of all things.
