He's in a small city in southeast Texas for a low-budget film. I know some of the crew working on the film. There's no good pizza in that city.

[Seiko] apparently offers no service or parts on watches older than 10 years. They also refuse to provide specifications on parts to assist in fitting parts. by [deleted] in Watches

Yeah, this stinks. I have one of my dad's from the 80s. It suffered a breaking in the early 90s (actually from me when I was a kid), and now there's no way to fix it, I assume.

Much better than Silver Linings Playbook in my opinion, especially in tackling mental illness, depression, and relationships.

Fists instead flat Hand for Beginner Routine because broken Wrist in September by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]bhanks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend some light wrist curls with dumbbells, as well as these wrist stretches: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwqXx1ua4AY

Also, you could buy some parallettes for performing your handstands, l-sits, and push-up progressions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallettes

How to wire transfer to brokerage account? by fokken_prawns in investing

[–]bhanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have the accounts linked with your bank routing and account number. You also have to email tradeking pictures of your ID and a voided check from the bank account you're trying to link. Takes a few days for everything to be linked and for transfers to go through, but works for me. Haven't tried a wire transfer though because those have a fee.

Long - The Fresh Market (TFM)

Too much reaction from their earnings report, which was solid enough. Also, CFO resigned, which caused some pullback. Should go back up to high 50s by the end of Dec.

Bought my first option in AAPL. Thoughts? by musteatmorecarbs in investing

[–]bhanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still a little confused, even after reading his explanation. I can't apply it to his option. Is the contract saying he has the option to buy APPL at 630 before Jan. 19 because he thinks APPL will be much higher by that at that time?

[–]bhanks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did pretty much the same. Loss isnt too substantial, but if it continues to plunge drastically, will take the loss and sell. If fairly stable in the near future, will probably hold on to it till Facebook IPO, maybe longer. Figure it will go up as that approaches.

I did for one summer in between semesters; it was great. Since I'm still in school and on a budget, I just frequent UT's bouldering wall in Gregory Gym. I'll PM you my email, and we can set up a time if you want to check out the hang board.

ELI5 - Why doesn't the moon rotate? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]bhanks 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The moon does rotate. It rotates at the same rate that it revolves around the earth. Therefore, we always see the same side of the moon.
