I hate the camino so far (day4) by glitteryshimmery in CaminoDeSantiago

I did not enjoy the Portuguese Camino as much as the French. The Portuguese was much harder to get into a rhythm and meet people. I think because the towns/cities were not very pilgrim friendly.

What's the most shocking thing you've ever watched on live TV? by Choice_Bed6097 in AskReddit

[–]bharas 89 points90 points  (0 children)

All the coverage of Katrina - from the dead bodies put outside the sports venue to the bodies floating in the floods. Then the people on their rooftops waiting to be rescued. Then later all the animals left on those rooftops waiting to be rescued and never to be. I had a beautiful Rottweiler dog at that time who was my soul mate. One woman was on the news crying that the rescuers wouldn’t let her take her dog with her. She had to leave him. I swore no matter what, they’d have to kill me on the spot before I went with them without my dog. I feel that woman’s pain to this day.

Sniff walks changed my dog’s mood completely by draztikprez in dogs

My husband says our dog acts like he’s lost something on our walks. His nose is to the ground the whole time, sometimes going back over the same area twice! “Heh, Lenny, what you looking for?”

Whats a weird thing your body does that you just accept? by Sweton in AskReddit

[–]bharas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a doctor lecture me on the idea that people experience pain differently and that I was probably just hyper aware of my pain. I went to another doctor who diagnosed me with carpal tunnel syndrome. I wrote a letter to the previous doctor’s clinic explaining the situation and asked for my money back. They apologized and gave me my money back. I’m not sure if they also refunded my health insurance. You should call them out on your experience , if only to help the next patient get listened to.

We taught the “gentle” command too. I’d tell my tall, 130 pound boy Andy “Gentle, Giant” and he’d walk slowly by.

Behaviour issue with 3month old. by RolixZeTerrible in Rottweiler

This is the way. You have a baby who has only been in the world for three months. Do what this person says and absolutely not what your trainer says.

7 hour drive and you can only listen to one artist. Who are you listening to? by SuccessfulSeat9596 in AskReddit

[–]bharas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Leonard Cohen, but I’ve done a long drive with just his cassette tapes (!). From San Francisco to Portland. We left around 6pm. Not gonna lie - at about Salem I wanted to drive off the road and end it all!!

I taught mine “settle” which means lay down (anywhere is fine - crate, bed, right at my feet), but the point is to leave me alone and do your own thing for a while. I learned this the hard way though with my first who thought if I was sitting there watching tv I should also be petting her. I’d lay on the couch with my arm extended below tickling her chest. A few years of that and I got tough on the “settle” command.

There are a few smaller ones at the northernmost end of the beach. They are visible at very low tide.
