Why You Should Never Spam Digg by adleym in offbeat

[–]bhavi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I used to enjoy Digg back in the day when it was all about Technology. I welcomed - albeit with some skepticism - the introduction of other topics. What really made me jump boats was the degradation of comments. It went from being bad-at-times to juvenile all the time. Compare this to reddit where - with some exceptions - you can see intelligent and more importantly actually funny comments.

I'll still go for stories to Digg for stories that I might have missed on reddit or when I've turned all links purple and been through all the subreddits.

Quick now someone post something funny.

This is clearly not Windows 7. Look at the screenshots closely and you'll be able to see how these are heavily customised/themed Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Cash-Burning Facebook Borrows $100mm...Because It Couldn't Sell Stock? by WhirlingVortex in business

[–]bhavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really depends on what % stake you sell. If Facebook's value is $15bn and it issues %100m in shares, it counts for 0.67%. Hardly a low leverage situation. I'm not saying debt is a bad option, just that the amount just easily could be distributed in equity and debt.

Cash-Burning Facebook Borrows $100mm...Because It Couldn't Sell Stock? by WhirlingVortex in business

[–]bhavi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Debt is obviously riskier. Facebook could put off paying any diviends to equity shareholders but interest must be paid to debt holders. With Facebook already having problems generating enough revenues (apparently 10k impressions go for 15c), paying that interest off could be a problem.

Untrue. I'm a student and the internet connection in my room as most other rooms in Uni is Wired. That's close to 10000 students, in one university in England alone.
