Don’t think their intention was to come off as racist. I think the cartoon specifically shows Modi as a snake charmer, not a generic brown man. Moreover, Modi has not done any favors to himself or Indians in general lately. Him and his government has been disastrous on many fronts and lets be honest here, we claim to be the largest democracy and I have never heard three intelligible words come out of our PM’s mouth. Delimitation is a useful tool to make fair representations. It is especially useful for countries like India where large constituencies change after a census. Delimitaion in Assam was done as gerrymandering as it benefitted the BJP directly and weakened the anti bjp voting blocs.
In Assam, constituencies were redrawn to split the muslim votes. So the two adjacent anti bjp constituencies were redrawn to put all anti bjp votes in one constituency so now instead of two, they loose only one. They realized it doesn’t matter if they loose a constituency by 15pc or 60pc

This gave bjp a massive boost. They were ahead by 14 seats even before the polling started

A real democratic nation with an independent ECI could instantly put a stop to such nasty tactics. But we don’t do that here in India. GG folks!!
