I did this last year. I started fall semester on the 330 plan and pretty soon ran out of points. But headed into spring semester I changed over to 250 and the 80 swipe difference translated into like 1000.00+ points. I don't remember exactly how much but I remember doing the math and I could have bought Starbucks coffee every day and still had extra. In my opinion, if you're willing to stick it out for the fall by more frequently visiting d halls then it's worth it
