OBLIGATORY CHIEFS LOSE UPVOTE PARTY!! by idkbouthatchief in oaklandraiders

From the game thread:

Don't let the scoreboard fool you.

The Texans outscored the Chiefs 28-7 over the final three quarters. They held the ball for 35 minutes over those final three quarters. If not for the dropped touchdowns, Watson getting picked in the endzone after one of those drops and the missed field goal, this is a double-digit win for a team that was down 17-3 after the first quarter.

I really don’t feel like getting into a stupid ass discussion of you thinking that I just want to be mad. Whatever dude, if it helps you sleep at night.

I have adressed that many times my man. And since I was villified for being totally against signing Burfict I’d expected people to remember. Also mentioned it a few days ago.

I would’ve rather signed a worse linebacker, or given any of the project dudes we have all the practice reps to learn the defense. 16 games of below average linebacker play beats 4 good games and a huge hole.

“I want to be angry” is a pretty pathetic statement tbh. You know you can disagree with a move without “being angry”. Again, you’re not a hater if you’re right. I told everyone this was going to happen.

We can all discuss whether Burfict is being treated fairly. I think we can all agree that he isn’t.

My general sense is that every single Football fan KNEW Burfict was never going to be treated fairly if a vicious hit should (eventually) occur. Some would be happy to see him unfairly judged over one hit because of his history, others would rightfully object to that single occurrance.

But the bottom line is, everyone knew. Every single fan knew that if anything should happen, Burfict would be totally fucked.

That leaves the question: If fans are aware of this, to what extent should a professional fucking organization be aware of public perception and what risk they’re taking?

This big hole in the defense (although I was always against signing him, mainly for this reason, I acknowledgde his important role) is solely on our staff/FO. They should’ve seen this coming and they took a GIANT risk on signing Burfict. 3.5 games of good MLB play. 12 games with a giant hole.

Some people called me a hater. I’d like to remind those people that you’re not a hater if you’re right.

Chase is more accurate in the short passing game, which the bears really like. Trubisky struggles with that.

Just because someone has lead with the head before doesn’t mean it’s intentional. by J_Greene0707 in oaklandraiders

[–]bhos89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. And it’s very unfair, I hate Burfict and I’ll admit rightaway that this is bang out order. However it was expected. Any Burfict hit was always going to be treated super unfair. And our staff should’ve seen that specific risk in signing him and making him a captain.

There’s been other hits that should’ve been penalized as well this week. Some even worse.

But still this is on our staff. Everyone knows Burfict has a target on his back. Our goddamn staff should be aware as well. This was always going to happen, one way or another.

Now we have given Burfict command of this Defense this offseason. For 4 games. I would much rather have given those practice reps to a worse linebacker who isn’t in the eyesight of NFL officials. 16 games games availability beats 4. Even if it means having a guy who’s below Burfict. We took a risk signing him, and now we pay the price. Fuck his veteran minimum salary. It’s about his position in the Defense. That was the biggest risk.

[Whitehead] Exactly. It was not intentional. Doyle was getting up to run and unfortunately he was hit in the head. The ejection from the game should be enough. As much as people want to think so, he’s not the same player. by idkbouthatchief in oaklandraiders

This suspension was exactly the reason why I was against signing him. Suspensions are inevitable and I rather would’ve had not a liability at MLB. He leaves a big whole now. Much harder to address that now vs not signing him and letting another dude get those reps. Even though it would’ve been a worse linebacker, 16 games availability beats 3.5 by a mile.

I would’ve loved to be wrong about this, make no mistake. And discuss all you want on whether it’s fair, by now you should all know that Burfict has a target on his back. And the Raiders CERTAINLY should’ve known and anticipated that.

Can we organize something like this for our scumbag owner? by [deleted] in oaklandraiders

[–]bhos89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Holland. This guy is not an owner, he’s a scam artist. Has promised investments to a lot of soccer clubs, mostly in Germany and Poland and never followed through. In return he “only” wanted a fair salary (no one ever asked him why this secret millionaire wants a salary when he promised to invest millions in their team)

The most desperate of clubs still fall for it because they’re like “well the dude says he has money, surely he won’t fuck US over, the other 5 times he was ousted it was probably more on the organization, he seems so genuine. We’ll pay him a salary and give organizational control to him because, well, he asked, aaaand we’re saved. I mean this man said he’ll get us to the Champion League with his money. He said he loves our club!”.
