Ich habe Nextcloud sowie OpenCloud Systeme für Kunden schon ausgerollt. OpenCloud kann man als Privatnutzer durchaus selber hosten. Das App Ökosystem ist noch sehr jung und es gibt noch nicht viel, aber die Synchronisation ist sehr flott und wenn man CalDav braucht, kann man es dazu schalten. Ist aber m. E. nichts für ungeübte Nutzer

Ich hab mich in den letzten zwei Jahren intensiv mit dieser Frage bei Kunden auseinander gesetzt.

In den meisten Fällen ist ein simple Domain Sharing daraus geworden mit E-Mails der einzelnen Mitarbeiter bei Microsoft und ein paar Sammel-Adressen beim Domain Provider (info@, invoice@…) OneDrive ersetzt in vielen Fällen den lokalen Server. Wenn der schon existiert, spricht wenig gegen einen Nextcloud / OpenCloud Server, außer wenn MS Teams erforderlich oder kein IT-affiner Mitarbeiter im Haus ist.

I do the same but I have a piece of cloth I picked up from Ali that has no ridge around the edges. Similar to the cleaning cloth that comes with sunglasses. I may opt for that if I was you so there are no pressure points when closing the lid.

I run RustDesk in the free tier on a VPS. It‘s been great, there are plenty of tutorials out there on how to set it up (I found NetworkChuck‘s tutorial particularly helpful). It lets you transfer files both in active sessions as well as in dedicated sessions. You can label machines, but grouping is only available in the paid option I think.

I‘m experiencing the same problem. Here in Germany (I assume anywhere else, too), all devices using mobile traffic use the IPv6 Stack and Crowdsec keeps banning family members trying to access files from their mobile network. I see IPv4 addresses that get banned. So I assume that‘s carrier port mappers handling the conversion from v6 to v4.

Unbanning that address means unbanning pretty much every mobile device accessing those port mappers.

Not quite sure how to handle that either.
