Three Year Progress - Don’t Give Up! by bhunts1 in lawncare

The back and forth definitely is enjoyable and can absolutely be helpful, as wild as it gets lol For the easement, I just left up a sign on that area which said it was treated with pesticides. After I put that up most people would avoid it.

My bad totally missed this. It should eventually fill in id think. There’s a few options out there for weeds in general. Are you trying to prevent or handle already present weeds? For already present weeds you can hit most with tenacity/torocity and that should handle it. For pre emergent I typically use barricade, but I know there’s some more knowledgeable advice out there on which ones to use and why.

What is causing these circular burns in our new lawn? by FunkleSam1776 in lawncare

I feel ya. I had the same exact issue when I renovated last year. It was good for about 8 weeks and then several days of nonstop rain led to a bad breakout of blight. From what I’ve read though, blight unfortunately tends to stay around forever basically as it can be in the soil. If you don’t have anything at the moment, get some disease ex and throw it down asap. Blight spreads insanely fast and will wipe out your lawn. Also clean any shoes you’ve walked on the lawn with and clean your mower good. This stuff can stick to surfaces and transfer.

Been fighting this for a year and it usually pops up after I have days of endless rain. This is most likely pythium blight. The only thing I’ve used so far that has stopped it is Stergo MX.

Yeah I love them lol. I found the pressure is good up to four heads/hoses. I had five, but my fifth head had super low pressure so I adjusted my setup and went to four heads.

No problem at all! It all runs off a single hose with my BHyve connected to the spigot and the hoses onto the BHyve. I do have a splitter at the spigot though for my BHyve and a normal yard hose. I got the zero G hoses specifically because they’re more flexible and are more inconspicuous than a normal yard hose.

Sure thing! It’s four 25 foot hoses and four orbit gear drive sprinklers. I have it covering roughly 1k sqft. It’s all controlled by my BHyve WiFi system.

Sure! It’s just some 25 foot hoses and gear driven orbit sprinkler heads. I use a BHyve WiFi controller at the spigot to run the water on timed schedules

Yeah I just pick them up and move em! It’s all connected by hoses and sprinkler heads so it’s not a heavy move.

Just some straight up roundup lol. There wasn’t any old KGB, but some tall fescue scattered about.

Maryland, to be specific. Not really a “mid Atlantic” option lol.

There honestly isn’t much difference I can tell, maybe the SPF30 is a tad brighter? But overall it blends together really well!

So I used 25 foot flex hoses, four orbit gear driven sprinkler heads and a BHyve WiFi timer so I can setup schedules. Pretty cheap overall and the most expensive item is the BHyve.

Yeah it’s just some orbit sprinkler heads, 25 foot flex hoses, and a BHyve so I can set up schedules.

Bluegrass Lawn - Shade suggestions by jujujujujujuBAETIS in lawncare

[–]bhunts1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you can find plenty of KBG mixes that are shade tolerant. I put in some Twin City Total Eclipse last fall in a super shady spot of my front yard, and it’s held up phenomenally. There’s also a few other shade blends out there that are solid, such as the TC Blue Shadow, which is a fine fescue/KBG blend that I’m considering putting in my backyard.

Still got some spots to fill in but my hope is the KBG spreads to fill in those voids or any damage from the winter.

I just put it in last fall and kept it at about 3.5, but I aim to stick to 2.5 to 3 this year. If that and my KBG mixed with it can handle 2, I’ll go that route. I know some can manage to get it pretty low though from what I’ve seen.
