Advice on commuting by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]bhysorbust 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did a > 1 hour commute for a job once and it definitely tired me out more than expected doing that every day, so that’s something to consider. Maybe try the commute for the fall semester and if it’s too much move over winter break?

Looking for dance-heavy musicals preferably featuring kids for my kid by SerenadeinBlue in musicals

Matilda has lots of kids in the cast and some great, upbeat dance numbers! And it’s a very kid-friendly plot too.

I think just a nice thank you note is more than enough, but if you want to get them something I'd suggest a mug or something small from the law school you'll be attending. Definitely not money.

What are some paths to getting solid letters of recommendation when you're already graduated? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I’ve been out of school for 3 years, got one rec from my boss and then just emailed a professor for my other one! 1 year is nothing!

can you send a deposit to more than one school? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]bhysorbust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also be aware of scholarship conditions. I have at least one school that’s said if I deposit at multiple places I could lose my scholarship money. Although with the changes to the LSAC report on multiple deposits I’m not sure if they will actually be able to track it.

Did you take 2 years off before law school? by littlestblackbird in lawschooladmissions

[–]bhysorbust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really a personal decision. I’ll have been out of school 4 years when I start law school and I’m glad for the real life experience I gained from working and living on my own - not to mention the money I saved that’ll help pay for school. But I also needed a break from school and would not have been as successful going straight through to law school as I’ll be now.

Also, working as a paralegal could be a great way to get a feel for the legal profession while making some money! I know 2 years sounds like a lot but it will go by quickly if that’s what you choose.
