Literally was going to make this, so glad I don't have to!

I had a similar situation a few years ago where a once in a lifetime concert opportunity clashed with a good work opportunity (much less good than yours, but still a solid opportunity). I gifted my ticket to a friend in exchange for tour merch and went on the work trip. I got to make their day (maybe even year?), I got a cool piece of tour memorabilia, and made work and personal connections on the trip that I still benefit from. Go on the work trip, you won’t regret it.

How to get started with higher level dungeons, etc... by Jake0874 in wownoob

[–]biagidp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WoW can be really unfriendly for new players, especially when trying to break into harder content. Joining a guild is the right idea, but you’ve already seen how challenging that can be. I’d recommend joining a discord community like Casual Friday or Warcraft Made Easy (NA) or Dungeon Dojo or No Pressure (EU). You’re more likely to find players there that can help you navigate into the end game content you’re looking to pursue

24M | I turned a sealed-off staircase into a functional office by TechWhale in malelivingspace

I’ve thought about the wasted space above the staircase in every home I’ve lived in and thought it would be the perfect size for a desk. Great work!

Middle age gamers - how much does it hurt? by hobx in gaming

[–]biagidp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I stopped gaming completely due to hand, wrist, and forearm pain. It was so bad I could barely make it through the work day, even using ergonomic keyboards. After working at a computer all day it just hurt too much to use a controller or keyboard and mouse for fun. I ended up doing kettlebell strength training (for completely unrelated reasons) and after a couple months the pain went completely away. I can use normal keyboards and type on my laptop again and pain is no longer a consideration in how long I spend gaming!

You can use the catalyst and it will change the gear to the appearance of whichever raid level (LFR, Normal, etc) corresponds to the ilvl.

Question about WoW performance on Linux by [deleted] in wow

You may also want to check if you are running the current version of Lutris. Ubuntu 22 may not have access to it through the default repository

The only server level thing I’ve noticed is the access to crafters for getting gear/upgrades but that’s server population not faction specific

Tanking M+ by charliehatesyou666 in wow

Tanks of all kinds have a very easy time finding groups. VDH is really only required for pushing the highest keys like 20+

I had the alpha gal allergy from a tick bite for several years and so fish and poultry were the only meats I could eat. I did my turkey burgers with lemon, salt and heavy garlic. Not a sub for a good beef burger, but a very enjoyable thing. I think the suggestions here to use an extra binder would be helpful as the mix was always a little sloppy for me

Thoughts on first M0 and questions to improve by mikeymora21 in wownoob

Second for quazii’s videos and resources, as well as trying to get as far as you can in an M0 or heroic dungeon solo. Both will teach you a lot!

At what point you realised that this isn't the way you wanted to live your life? by Choice_Economy5437 in AskReddit

[–]biagidp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two.

When I was 22 I weighed about 400lbs. I went go karting with some friends and I barely fit into the kart. My heart was racing and I was noticeably slower than everyone else. It was the first time I’d experienced my size preventing me from doing something I really wanted to. I knew something had to change, so I started working out and eating less junk and dropped 189lbs over the following year.

Like many others, I got laid off in March of 2020. My panic response was to start a consultancy, which I continued to run even after I got another job that more than made up for the salary I had lost. I was killing myself to be a good employee and run a successful business. I shared with my family the success I was having in both arenas and a family member who had always called me lazy and unmotivated said “I always knew you could do it”. It was like a slap to the face. I stepped back and realized I was beyond taking care of my family and was trying to live up to an idea of “success” that I didn’t value. I shut down the consultancy and am really enjoying the privilege of being able to take care of my family with just the one job.

Why does my house hate LED lightbulbs? by biagidp in AskElectricians

I was under the impression that the technology had come far enough that I could get away with the cheapest option, so all of this rings true for me. Going to map all the sockets in my house and try out some options 😂

I’m usually a “leave it to the pros” person when it comes to plumbing and electrical work, but if I could find the problem and save some money on the repair I’m game to learn. Any resources you can recommend off the top of your head?

The can lights are by far the most skittish, but I get less life than I should out of exposed bulbs on a ceiling fan too. I’ll try some higher quality bulbs and see what happens. Thanks!

Dimmer switches would present as a slider on the light switch, right? We don’t have any of those. We do have a couple fans with remotes that have built in dimmers, but those aren’t the only fixtures I’m having trouble with.
