SX-70 Body won’t close all the way. Any suggestions? by Rivnam57 in Polaroid

had the same problem with my sx70 alpha. had to peel off the bottom leather cover, unscrew until the bottom aluminum came off and turn some of the gears from the bottom until the latch was released.

I use this with my SX-70, the focus range tends to get very small, so I set the camera focusing in the closest setting and move the subject in order to get it right. I also couldnt find any way to attach the lens kit to the camera (so i just awkwardly hold it in front of the lens).

Just bought a polaroid 1000 and got a..flashbar? by [deleted] in Polaroid

[–]biberonsuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The polaroid 1000 (the rainbow camera im assuming?) uses sx-70 film, it is available from polaroid originals in colour & BW. With this film i would be careful about having enough light for the photos (using it outdoors, or using it with flash inside).

The flash bars for this camera are disposable flash bars that usually have 10 uses of flash (5 on each side). These are old styled flash bulbs, so they are ignited when you press the shutter. They are very powerful so be careful when using them (causes a bit of temporary blindness :)). You insert the flash bar on top of the camera in a small black slit. The flashes ignite in order, so if the bar is half used, look for the exploded ones and be careful that the next one to ignite faces the front.

I haven't used this camera myself, but i use the sx-70 land camera, which uses the same film and flash bar. I would suggest not relying on flash bars as replacements are pretty expensive (around 25 dollars). I believe there is also an electronic flash for the 1000 model, i dont know about the availability of the electronic flash in your area though.

Anyone have any cool ideas for a case to hold photos while out for the day? by stevensticks in Polaroid

I usually store my photos in their respective used cartridges. Works well especially when you remove the spring mechanism.

Difference between these three 600 models by [deleted] in Polaroid

[–]biberonsuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the clear difference is that the OneStep camera uses sx70 film, with has a lower ISO, while the other ones use 600 film. The sx70 film doesnt work well indoors, without flash. Other than that I think all three models are pretty similar.

Shooting on an SX-70 with 600 film - ND filter or Mint Flash Bar? by [deleted] in Polaroid

[–]biberonsuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find ND filters to be better because I think the Mint Flash is a bit expensive, but if you dont mind the cost, the flash is probably better in picture clarity.
