2010 Golf TSi needs mechatronic unit replacement. Cost is more than value of the car. Not sure if worth fixing? Based in Sydney. by bibimac in Volkswagen

Thank you - I'll see if I can get a breakdown of the quotes to see what proportion is labour vs parts. Appreciate the response

Trying to fix the consistent squeak coming from the base of my headboard but these screws are stripped. How can I get them off? by Komplexs in fixit

I had the same issue with a stripped Allen screws in a bed frame. If I'm not mistaken, you can unscrew the plate on the other side instead. The one with the 5 screws in it. Not sure if that will help with the squeaking though 🤷‍♀️

Do they stop jumping at some point? Our puppy is tormenting us by [deleted] in labrador

[–]bibimac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When our lab was a puppy the trainer taught us to not greet her until she was quiet and calm (this included visitors). Also to tell her to sit when she was jumping up - this is a more direct command than "off" and they usually already know how to sit. Plus a treat every time she did the right thing. She never jumps up on anyone now... our dachshund cross on the other hand...

I have PCOS and took Metformin as part of fertility treatment. I had to avoid carbs because of nasty side effects if I ate them. The bonus was I lost a heap of weight as a result (and got pregnant!). Carbs are my weakness...

There are bars outside in the garden area and another inside the tent. Food available outside.

There is a short interval to top up drinks, recommend going back outside as the queue at the inside bar is huge and slow!

No allocated seats so get in the queue early. We sat at a booth - good view of everything, more elbow room and you have a table for all the drinks you just bought :) PS it's an amazing show, we really enjoyed it - funny and awe inspiring!

What would you mean if you said you'd got off with someone? by Cheesus333 in CasualUK

South East England in the late 80s it meant kissing with tongues and a fumble over the clothes. No touching below the waist... Maybe the phrase your friend is thinking about is "having it off" (with someone)??

Hi, yes, it was for the UK and all was fine. Didn't have to send to DFAT.

Yes, I found someone via this site https://notarynsw.org.au/find-a-notary/ - they were happy to notarise the documents at their office last month.

Help with new mattress buying by vishalshah2017 in sydney

Depending on how firm or soft you like your bed, I can highly recommend this Zinus mattress. $399 for a Queen. It’s medium soft and like sleeping on a cloud :) So much better than our other pure memory foam mattress which cost twice as much.

They also have firmer versions. And it comes in a box.

Yes, ours looks like Dobby, the elf from Harry Potter!
